Newfoundland ( and Labrador ) is a province of Canada on the country's Atlantic coast. This eastern most Canadian province is comprised of two main regions the island of Newfoundland off the country s eastern coast, and Labrador on the mainland to the northwest of the island. The province is often referred to by the acronym «NL». The population is greater than 500,000, and the capital city is Saint John s. There are five principal Environmental Terror Organizations operating in Newfoundland Canadian Cancer Society NL Environment Network NL Lung Association New Democratic Party ( the POLITICAL SHIELD for the Environmental Terror Movement) NL Medical Association. In 2009, NL Provincial Coalition on Pesticides was created as a PUBLIC POLICY SHIELD OR- GANIZATION by the Contemptible Canadian Cancer Society, along with mostly little clubs of Enviro Maniacs, such as NL Association of Registered Nurses Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment NL Environment Network Food Education Action St. John s Grand Riverkeeper Labrador Kelligrews Ecological Enhancement Program NL Lung Association NL Medical Association Mercy Centre for Ecology and Justice Municipalities of NL Northeast Avalon Atlantic Coastal Action Program Saint John's Safer Soil Sierra Club of Canada Atlantic Chapter.

Canada has a culture of banishment

Anything you like or need could be banned tomorrow BANISHING BANS May 21 s t, 2010 Brian Jones The Telegram ( Newfoundland ) The way things are going, ANYTHING YOU LIKE OR NEED COULD BE BANNED TOMORROW, so you d better enjoy it while you can. Canada has a culture of banishment. The latest frenzy occurred when the Liquor Control Board of Ontario [ L.C.B.O. ] banned the sale of the Crystal Head Vodka [ promoted by celebrity and winery owner Dan Aykroyd ] because its BOT- TLE IS SHAPED LIKE A SKULL, and, in the L.C.B.O. s view, presents an INAPPROPRIATE symbol of death to its customers unlike, say, thousands of other brands of BOTTLED MAYHEM AND DESTRUCTION. The L.C.B.O. seems not to realize it is in the business of selling one of THE MOST DEADLY SUBSTANCES ON EARTH.

Perhaps elected officials who favour prohibition would prefer that most yards in their city look as if they should surround a Detroit crack house But that's the thing about bans. They don t need to follow logic. They only need to be endorsed by people who have the po wer to i mplement them. Green is good Municipal politicians in Saint John s [ in the Province of Newfoundland ] want to ban the use of pesticides by city residents. The favoured catch phrase of banners is «the cosmetic use of pesticides», as if the desire for a fine looking lawn is FRIVOLOUS and FACILE. Perhaps the city councillors who favour banning pesticides would prefer that most yards in Saint John s look as if they should surround a Detroit CRACK- HOUSE. Their use of the term «cosmetic» reveals this debate is about PROPAGANDA, not facts. The poor old lawn has taken a beating in recent years. First, it became a symbol of SUBURBAN INDULGENCE.

Prohibitionists are arrogant or authoritarian enough to demand that other people do things their way Now, it s polluting Mother Earth and harming her children. For something so green, it s deceptively UN GREEN. Be brave. Go ahead and say it «I like my lawn». I like that it is SMOOTH AND SOFT. I like that it is GOOD TO PLAY ON, or to just sit on. I like that it RESEMBLES A MINI PARK. For the record, I don t use pesticides of any kind, «cosmetic» or otherwise, on my lawn. I prefer the manual method of weeding. It is labour intensive, but it works better. You get down on your knees and cut the weeds out. Yes, «weeds» sure, dandelions are a legitimate plant, and they have a right to exist, but not on my lawn, dammit. But, not being a city councillor, I am not ARROGANT or AUTHORITARIAN enough to DEMAND other people do it my way.

Some Enviro Maniac Elected Officials are deluded into believing that they know better than Health Canada Misleading argument Too often, environmentalists hurt their own good cause by making OUTLANDISH CLAIMS. Does anyone BELIEVE anything the David Suzuki Foundation says anymore? Apparently, that weed killer you brought home last weekend contains BOTTLED APOCALYPSE THAT WILL LAY WASTE TO LIFE ON EARTH AS WE KNOW IT. Similarly, Saint John s city council apparently wants citizens to believe residential pesticides are harmful to their health and to their children's well being. [ Enviro Maniac ] Councillor Sheilagh O Leary goes further. [ soleary@stjohns.ca ] [ Enviro Maniac ] O Leary apparently believes, and wants you to believe, that Health Canada s approval of residential pesticides available in stores is ERRO- NEOUS and UNRELIABLE, because its endorsement is based on research it receives from the businesses that produce them. What the...? Shocking. Scandalous. Unbelievable. Suzuki esque.

Also untrue. And further proof this issue is about politics, not science. [ Enviro Maniac ] O Leary is apparently UNFAMILIAR with the concept of independent, third party verification. According to Health Canada, pesticide producers submit their research data to the agency, which then checks it against other research that has been conducted on the substance, to see if the company's safety claims are valid. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the World Health Organization use the same method. O Leary does not seem to recognize the subtle but important difference. BACKGROUND INFORMATION FROM AN INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE O Leary has NO competent expertise, recognized training, or background, in matters concerning pest control products. O Leary is blatantly and consistently WRONG with her opinions and recommendations. O Leary s expertise cannot be valid since her educational background is in Fine Arts, and her work background is in Nude Photography. Overall, the opinions of O Leary are TOTALLY VALUELESS and UTTERLY WORTHLESS in matters in matters concerning pest control products. She is NOT COMPETENT to give advice! If you told O Leary, «Being environmentally conscientious, I like to drink tap water rather than bottled water», she might reply, «So, you like to drink.» Brian Jones is a desk editor at The Telegram.

Some Enviro Maniac Elected Officials are uniquely qualified to rationally discuss pest control products

The nanny state will ruin us all. Many of the tree huggers who want to ban the use of lawn chemicals would faint dead away if they ever had to work on a farm and would be marching in the street to protest that lettuce now cost $10.00 a head if there were no chemicals used. I like my grass and I pay a local company to send licensed persons to use the correct chemicals to keep it green. There is a person nearby who has a sign on his lawn that says no chemicals used for our children s safety. The place is a mess of dandelion, chickweed and brown patches. If you want to actually do something constructive... don t drive the Lexus to work, give up your gym and spa memberships ( the building consume electricity and there are chemicals in the water ). Stop playing golf ( wanna guess how they keep the greens so green ), and let the average guy enjoy his wee bit of lawn. Regarding pest ic ides and the ir health and environmental effects, I would rely more on the facts from the David Suzuki Foundation rather than the more propagandish stuff from Health Canada. Health Canada has a record of not adequately protecting the health of Canadians from toxic chemicals and other substances. Look at cigarettes and tobacco for example the best He alth Canada can do is re quire messages on the packs of smokes stating that they are dangerous to your health. Bob Diamond, Enviro Maniac Activist

Great article. I too had a good chuckle over banning the vodka. At first, I thought it could have been for spite against Newfoundland, but realized, they do sell Screech in Ontario. The comments on Suzuki and O Leary are dead on. I have no prob lem with e nvironment alists br inging legitimate concerns forward. When they outright lie to make their points ( like Al Gore ), it ruins their credibility and makes having an educated discussion, well, a waste of time. The David Suzuki Foundation is nothing more than an Environment al Activist group, and anything they say should be taken with a grain of salt. Please let s not wave the tobacco flag here. The government makes a fortune off taxes. Let s ban tobacco, alcohol, and motor cars... then we won t have to worry about pesticides on lawns. A green lawn is a small pleasure for the average person. Ban the use of chemicals on golf course s... but that s not gonna happen because the people with more money and influence own the gold courses. The local supermarket sells us food with pe sticides and herbicides all over it, even in it, yet these people want to talk about lawns. Not to mention the industry in Ontario and Quebec. Every day, in the larger centers, there are hundreds of thousands of gallons of industrial waste spewed into the environment by heavy industry in and around Toronto, and Montreal. Perhaps these could be a c ause for the aforementioned ailments???

Force Of Nature presents THE WHOLE TRUTH FROM AN INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE from National Organization Responding Against Huje that seek to harm the Green Space Industry (NORAHG). It is a series of e newsletters destined for the Green Space Industry, the Environmental Terror Movement, Governments, and the Media, nationwide across Canada, the United States, and overseas. The information presented in Force Of Nature has been developed for the education and entertainment of the reader by providing a sequence of historical events WITH COMMENTARY. Huje is a term used to describe Enviro Maniac Activists that routinely concoct FEAR MONGERING, FRAUDULENT LIES, MISCONCEPTIONS, COERCION, THREATS, DECEPTIONS, TERROR, and PARANOID CONSPIRACIES that are DESIGNED to SCAM and DECEIVE the public into believing that families are in some NON EXISTENT danger with conventional pest control products. Huje also SCAM and DECEIVE Government Officials into the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS prohibition of FEDERALLY LEGAL, SCIENTIFICALLY SAFE, TOTALLY IRREPLACEABLE, and ABSOLUTELY INDISPENSABLE conventional pest control products. All information, excerpts, and pictures contained in this document were found somewhere on the Internet, and may be considered in the public domain, serving one of the following purposes archive, education, promotion, publicity, or press release. The events, characters, companies, and organizations, depicted in this document are not always fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, may not be coincidental. Force Of Nature is TOTALLY INDEPENDENT of any trade association or business operating within the Green Space Industry. Don t thank us. It s a public service. And we are glad to do it. Force Of Nature is the brainchild of William H. Gathercole and his entourage. Mr. Gathercole is a principal FOUNDER of the Modern Professional Lawn Care Industry in BOTH Ontario and Quebec. He holds a degree in Horticulture from the UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH, and another pure and applied science degree from McGILL UNIVERSITY. He has worked in virtually all aspects of the Green Space Industry, including GOLF, PROFESSIONAL LAWN CARE, and CHEMICAL INDUSTRY, and has served in public affairs, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. Mr. Gathercole has supervised, consulted, programmed, and/or overseen the successful and safe execution of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of pest control applications in the urban landscape. He has trained, instructed, and consulted with THOUSANDS of turf managers and technicians. Mr. Gathercole has also been an agricultural agronomist. For many years, Mr. Gathercole was a contributing columnist for TURF & Recreation Magazine, Canada s Turf and Grounds Maintenance Authority. Mr. Gathercole is now retired from Force Of Nature, although his name continues to appear as the founder. Mr. Gathercole is personally credited for crafting the Golf Industry Exception Status, that endures to this day. He is also the creator of the signs that are now used for posting after application. His vast knowledge of our long journey with Environmental Issues is UNDENI- ABLE hopefully! For FIFTEEN YEARS, the strategies designed and implemented by Mr. Gathercole and his colleagues guaranteed the control of Environmental Terror for the entire Modern Green Space Industry across Canada. Mr. Gathercole s involvement in Environmental Issues reached a fevered pitch in the 1990s, when he orchestrated, with his colleagues, legal action against the Forces of Environmental Evil in the Town of Hudson, Quebec. Mr. Gathercole is the ONLY TRUE RELIABLE WITNESS of the Hudson Affair. Mr. Gathercole and his entourage have followed the evolution of ENVIRONMENTAL TERRORISM for over a quarter century. Through Force Of Nature, Enviro Maniac Activist Huje are identified on the basis of their statements, activities, affiliations, and whereabouts. Even though each Enviro Maniac Culprit is a misguided adversary, each still deserves our respect. The use of the terms Maniac, Culprit, Terrorist, or Basterd are not accusations of any legal wrong doing. Force Of Nature is simply holding Enviro Maniac Activists accountable for conspiring to change public policies that TERRORIZE, HARM, and THREATEN the Green Space Industry. Their pretentious prohibitionist rants have created LOSS OF REVENUES, BUSI- NESS FAILURES, BANKRUPTCY, and UNEMPLOYMENT, inflicting DESPAIR and DESTITUTION for THOU- SANDS of hapless victims throughout the Green Space Industry. The DEPRAVED INDIFFERENCE of Maniac Culprit Terrorist Basterd Huje is viewed as a form of TERROR, HARM, and THREAT against the Green Space Industry.
