1 26. SALES & ARCHIVES SECTION 26.1 Main Function: During the year 2002, Sales & Archives Section dealt with the following items of work:- i) Procurement and sales of M. P. s D.O. stationery. ii) Procurement and Sale of New Year Greeting Cards. iii) Rajya Sabha Debates. iv) Procurement and sale of Souvenir items. v) Sales of Rajya Sabha Publications vi) Gazettes of India & Bindery Work vii) Participation in World Book Fair 26.2 Procurement and sale of M. Ps D.O. Stationery: Sales and Archives Section dealt with procurement and sale of D.O Stationery to the Members of Rajya Sabha on NO PROFIT NO LOSS basis, Stationery worth Rs. 35,398 were sold to M. Ps. during the year Procurement and sale of New Year Greeting Cards: This Section had a stock of Greeting Cards from the last year and 20,000 Greeting Cards were purchased in December Thus out of a total of Greeting Cards of last year and current year 29,920 cards were sold to Members through Sales Counter in Parliament House, Parliament House Reception and Parliament House Annexe. At present stock position of New Year Greeting Cards is as follows: Old Card New Cards Total 3, Issue of Rajya Sabha Debate: During the period under review English Version of Debates of 68 days were received covering 193 rd to 196 th session and 64 days debates from 193 rd to 196 th Session were issued to Members, State Legislature Assemblies and other recipients. The Section also received Hindi version of Debates of 56 days from 191st Session to 195 th Session and issued 80 days from 191 st Session to 195 th Session as per the mailing list by this Section. Some Debates were also got bound for Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) at their cost and recoveries on this account were made from

2 their Salary Bills. The out station demands for the supply of all the publications brought out by this Secretariat was met through Registered Book Post Gazette of India and Bindery work: Payments were made for supply of various copies of Gazettes Extraordinary and Acts of Notifications etc. which were requisitioned from the publications division of the Ministry of Urban Development for use in the Secretariat. This Section also arranged for the bindery work of various reports and office records required for the use of officers as well as for use in different Section during the year under review at competitive rates World Book Fair- 2002: This Section participated in World Book Fair, 2002 held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 28 th January to 4 th February All Rajya Sabha Publications were displayed in the stall hired during the World Book Fair, 2002 and large
