1 BOARD MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance at 6:54 p.m. in the Fairview Middle School with the following in attendance: Board Members present: Mr. Dougherty, Mr. Foyle, Mr. Stroup, Mr. Natalie, Mrs. New, Ms. Grimes, Mr. Lawson, Mrs. Louis, and Mrs. Symes. CALL TO ORDER Also in attendance were: Attorney Joseph, Dr. Kincade, Mr. Barnes, Mr. Zona, Mr. Lewis, Mr. Nies, Dr. Horn, Mr. Muye, Mr. Ferringer, Mr. Hering, Mr. Watt, Carol Elliott, and Paul Bacik. Mr. Natalie moved Board acceptance of the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole and Public Board Meeting of August 24, 2015, and September 14, 2015, and Budget and Finance Committee, Education and Policy Committee, and Employee Relations/ECA/Operations Committee Meetings of August 10, 2015 and September 14, Mr. Stroup seconded the motion. Motion carried by acclamation vote. (9-0) (SEE MATERIAL) Mrs. Symes moved Board approval of the bills payable through September 25, Mr. Dougherty seconded the motion. Mrs. Symes seconded the motion. On a roll call vote the ayes were all. Motion carried. Mr. Dougherty seconded the motion. On a roll call vote the ayes were all. Motion carried. (9-0) (SEE MATERIAL FROM EDUCATION AND POLICY COMMITTEE AND ALSO IN BOARD Mrs. Symes moved Board approval of the Novell Annual Renewal from November 2015 through October 2016 at a cost of $3, as presented. 2 Page 2 Mrs. Symes moved Board approval of the K12 Customer Care Plan beginning October 1, 2015, at a cost of $6,600 for 40 hours of support as presented. Mr. Foyle seconded the motion. (9-0) (SEE MATERIAL FROM Mrs. Symes moved Board approval of the B1B2 Visa for transportation of foreign exchange students as presented with the daily rate to be the same as for students carrying an F1 Visa at $3.35 per day. (9-0) (SEE MATERIAL FROM COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE AND ALSO IN BOARD Mrs. Louis reported that the IU has gone out for a loan to pay bills because funds are running out in early October. They also had an executive session to do a study on the Act 93 salary. There will be more to come on that. Mr. Foyle reported that after 21 months of negotiations, they presented their best offer for the contract and it was rejected. Mr. Natalie reported that a state budget has yet to be passed.
