Prayer was offered by Pastor Brad Jury, Providence Baptist Church in Westerville, Ohio, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The journal of the last legislative day was read and approved. The following guests were recognized by the Senate prior to the commencement of business: Senator Obhof recognized Justin Harrison, Tracy Harrison, Madi Shook, Kelli Shook, Nolan Shook, and Ron Jagodzinski constituents and founders of Bullfrogs against Bullying. Senator Faber recognized the Jackson Center High School girls volleyball team on its 2016 Division IV State Championship. Senator Balderson recognized the Millersport High School Government class. Senator Coley requested a moment of silence in memory of Butler County Common Pleas Judge Craig D. Hedric. Senator Bacon recognized Sergeant First Class Zachary Allan Bannister and requested a moment of silence in his memory. Senator Hite requested a moment of silence in memory of former Representative Charlie Brading.
