MOMENT OF SILENCE IV. SECIL RESENTTION a. Janet LeMonnier Executive Director of Communications i. Wants to introduce communications to the students and figure out what information students need from the administration. ii. Her office provides strategic and implementation support for Seton Hall Law to build and sustain relationships.

Encourages students take advantage of all the communication channels present at the law school. erhaps improve LawNet page to improve its effectiveness. iv. lso wants students to stop by her office if students ever need anything. and complete the survey and return it to her. V. UBLIC INUT a. LLS: pril 18 th at Brooklyn Law School from 9-5 Lante Conference i. Register at metrolalsa.org. b. LS: i. Elections will be taking place in the last weeks of pril as well as the E-board transition dinner. c. RELS i. pril 7 th 1. There will be four speakers with rofessor Franzese moderating the panel about the administrate procedures of the Fair Housing ct.there will be a networking event after. d. Senator Wilbur: dmitted Students Event on March 27, 2015 and pril 13, Katya Valasek for more information. VI. ROVL OF MINUTES a. pproval of Meeting Minutes i. Senator Wilbur motioned to approve the Meeting Minutes. 1. Senator lvarez seconded the motion to approve the Meeting Minutes. 2. ll in favor -2 bstentions- Senator Dellera and Senator grapidis because neither either attended the previous meeting. VII. OFFICER REORTS a. Tyler Sims, resident i. Dean Search Student Sessions 3/23, 3/25, and 3/30 at 4:30-6pm in the 5th Floor Faculty Library 1. Encourages all students to attend if they do not have class, especially because a dean s search does not happen very often. 2. Students can also attend a reception if they cannot attend the question and answer sessions. 3. Senator lvarez: Want to make the SB aware that on 3/25 and other Wednesdays until the end of the semester evening students will have a make up from 4:30pm to 6:00pm to the end of the semester. ii. SB Blog page 1. Encourage students to visit the page at blogs.shu.edu/sba 2. dd link to the blog to your respective social media page iii. Important Dates 1. SB Meeting Dates (in Room 10am) a. 4/19 (assing of the Gavel) 2. 3/23 3/27: SB Elections

5 a. The goes out tomorrow and closes Friday at 1:00 pm. b. The E-Board candidates can reach out to teachers and make speeches. c. There will be speeches for the contested positions from 5:30 pm 6:00pm on Tuesday in the Student Lounge. Uncontested candidates do not have to give speeches. Only E-Board members can table and senators can only use word of mouth campaigns. i. Senator lvarez: For the 1Ls, senators cannot endorse other candidates by wearing t-shirts, etc. ii. resident Sims: Encourages senators not endorse because it gives the idea of ticketing. 3. 3/23: Womens Law Forum and BLS - Knowing Our Worth: Ways to Frame and Reclaim the romise of Equality from 5-7pm in the 5th Floor Faculty Library a. Representative Vanessa Coleman: The event is in Room /24: Employer review and Externship Expo from 4-6pm at the Newark Club a. resident Sims pushes students to attend this event. The administration does a lot to get attorneys from big firms to come to these events. i. Senator Wilbur: What if you want to go now but the deadline has passed? 1. resident Sims: Maria Capra if you would like to go. 5. 3/25: Exclusive Screening of Selma at 4:45pm in the Larsen uditorium a. resident Sims: The movie will start at 5:00 pm. b. Molly: lease register early because Molly reserved ticket priority for students over alumni and corporations so please register today if you would like to go. 6. 3/26: Health Law Forum - Calling The Shots On Vaccination: Mandatory Vaccination Of Health Care Workers at 5pm in the 5th Floor Faculty Library 7. 4/8: Take Back the Night from TBD a. Molly: This year Take Back the Night will not be done with Rutgers so this year we must make an effort to show up. b. resident Sims: This was a powerful event last year; encourages students to attend this event. 8. 4/10 4/11: UV Softball Tournament b. No updates. c. Community ffairs & Outreach Committee Senator Zammiello i. Tried to arrange the Fight for ir event on March 28th at the Gateway Center with a student deal but it was unsuccessful. ii. Senator King: You must have the $100 minimum per person plus the $25 to register. iii. arliamentarian owers: There is Cherry Blossom 10K on pril 10 th weekend. d. Governance Committee Senator Moure i. Will discuss later. e. Facilities Committee Senator Yarbrough i. No updates. f. Lawyering & Skills Committee Senator Ott i. Met with rofessor Grosz who talked to Dean St. Romain. There will be an evaluation at the end of the semester to better gauge the new program. g. irate ride Committee Senator lvarez i. Senator grapidis will speak with the Sports Club president for a sports tournament. There seems to be an SB event for a lounge re-opening. ii. Hopes to have a irate ride event where everyone wears blue on a certain day. Looking into making wrist bands and wants to make Seton Hall Law ones. iii. resident Sims: With respect to the lounge re-opening, it will be a re-opening party and also an award ceremony for the professor of the year. iv. Senator grapidis: The idea the committee was thinking about a tournament for all the different activities in the student lounge and crown the best player in each of those activities.

Senator lvarez: dmissions is considering changing the admission process to add more character and fitness questions to face issues that have been coming up with candidates who have had these issues. c. NEW BUSINESS a. pproval of Dissolution of Intro to Lawyering Committee proposed by Senator Ott (see attached) i. Senator Ott: The committee has been meeting and believes that it is at a point where it can be absorbed in to the cademics and Curriculum Committee. 1. Senator Moure: Moves to remove Intro to Lawyering Committee. 2. resident Sims: oint of Information: oints attention to rticle 6 Section 5(b). The reason he pointed that amendment out is because the constitution requires certain committees to be in existence. Mandatory committees cannot be dissolved a. Constitutional mendment #3 1. Secretary Thomas: There are too many special elections and they cost money, burden the Honor Council and SB. 2. Senator Chou: So the vacancy won t be filled outside of those two special elections? 3. resident Sims: Only contested positions, the others will be automatically filled. 4. Senator Moure: oint of information: It was a reaction to us not being able to pass legislation with enough votes because of all the vacancies. Senator Moure: Would like to propose a friendly amendment to number 1. ii. Senator Lee: Motion to recess for 5 minutes. 1. Senator Dellera: Seconds the motion to recess for 5 minutes. iii. arliamentarian owers: oint of information: Go through the amendment in full and then go back and vote on item by item. iv. Senator Blankstein: What does #2 entail? v. Senator Moure: It outlines the procedure that the honor council follows so the accused is aware of the process and procedures. vi. Senator Moure: art B: added the Director of Student Services as a friendly amendment. vii. Senator Moure: art B (1): includes but is not limited to statements from all parties involved 1. Senator Moure discussed with Honor Council chair to reach a happy medium. viii. Senator Moure: Subsection 4 of part D ix. resident Sims: Can you go up and explain the change for #3 and #4? x. Senator Magliette: Can we put in the language when we recommend that the honor council divides and also specify that we want an uneven amount of members? o. Senator Moure: agrees with Senator Magliette to set up a suggestion for when and how many members the split should entail. p. Treasurer Tesic: This is an election code violation, correct? n appeal would just be re-doing the same thing. Encourages other people to speak. q. Senator Zammiello: how frequent are these violations? r. Molly: There are two in ten years. s. Senator Zammiello: Doesn t see the point of us telling the honor council what to do? t. Senator Ott: The honor council can do what they think is best. u. Senator Colban: Understand the importance of the purpose but feels as though all these are useless to a degree. She does not see the point of it. aa. Senator Magliette: n appeal would be beneficial only if the same members of the council are not on the appeal board. bb. resident Sims: oint of clarification: the honor council has been good in following the election bylaws cc. Senator Moure: If we don t like one rule, maybe we should accept all of them. don t let the fact that they don t necessarily have to follow the bylaws affect your decision. dd. Senator Blankstein: There must be an appeals process. even if the honor council doesn t have to follow the rules we propose. ee. Doesn t see how an appeal process will help. mm. Senator Moure: Wants to add more levels of review similar to the US court system and wants to add more consistency: i.
