1 NEWSLETTER PUBLISHED NOVEMBER 2016 NEXT MONTLY MEETING ON MONDAY NOVEMBER 21, AT 7:30 P.M FROM THE BOARD COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN Reminder: Year-end reports are due by the January board meeting. Year-end annual reports are due by January membership meeting. BOARD SEATS The floor will be open for nominations for the 3 vacating board seats during the November and December meetings. The floor will then close at the December meeting. Two of these seats are three (3) year terms (to replace Rick Beal and Mark Eesley). The third seat is a one (1) year term to (to replace Brian Rautanan). The voting to fill these board seats will take place at the January annual meeting. Reminder to all 2016 New Members. New members are required to put 5 hours in at the Rifle Clinic for their first year s work hours. Please contact Mark Lavine at to schedule the day you plan to work. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Life-Members- VERY IMPORTANT Just because you are a life member at the club, does not mean you do not have to check in with the secretary to verify your address, phone number or address. Especially since it is required by the club s By-Laws. And this has to be done every year, either by phone. (Leave full name and phone number) or by . The secretary will return your call or , or will call if you send via postal, to let you know she received the info. By Laws SECTION 9. All Menomonee Falls Rod and Gun Club Members who are sixty-five (65) years of age, or permanently disabled, with ten (10) years of Membership, may petition the Board to become paid-up Life Members, and will maintain all Rights and Privileges as that of a Regular Member. In order to maintain Life Membership, such Member must inform the Secretary, once a year between December and February, of his or her current address. Any member may acquire Life Membership for $50.00 per year. For every year until 65. Work Hours would be due until age 65. 2 OCTOBER 17 TH BOARD MEETING REPORT The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rick Beal at 6:00pm Board Members present were Rick Beal, Mark Eesley, Ash, John Fassbender, Jake Tritz, Brian Rautanan. Excused absence Jim Ash. Also present Secretary Heidi Kritselis. Motion to accept the Board and Membership Meeting Minutes Motion to accept the Treasurers Report as printed o Motions passed unanimously by voice vote Guests: Ben Brouwer and John McFadyan Old Business: We are still looking for bids of redoing the parking lot. The speaker on the rifle range needed replacing. The scribe s club printer needed replacement parts. New Business: Ben Brouwer and John McFadyen approached the board since under the guidance and control of John the plan is to have a WI State Police Association Match next year at the club s grounds. This would be the second Sunday and Monday of August The Range would be closed for these two days. The match consists of prone rifle at the 100yd range and 900 bull seye matches at the 25/50yrd. This was discussed at the board meeting and met with approval. The board asked John and Ben to present this at the membership meeting tonight. Motion by Brian Rautanan, seconded by Jake Tritz: To reimburse the secretary for toner (printing of the club s newsletter) in the amount of $ o Motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Motion by John Fassbender, seconded by Brian Rautanan: To reimburse Greg Sieber for items needed at the club in the amount of $ o Motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:10p.m. Submitted by Heidi Kritselis, Secretary OCTOBER 17 TH GENERAL MEMBERSHP MEETING REPORT The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rick Beal at 7:30pm. Motion to accept the Board and Membership Meeting Minutes. Motion to accept the Treasurers Report as printed subject to audit. Pledge of Allegiance. Entertainment: Underwater Connection with Mike Hayes, was canceled. 3 New Business: John McFadyen and Ben Brouwer announced that, with the board s approval, there will be another (WI State Police Association) match in This is for active and retired police officers. We already have two NRA approved matches and two CMP matches. The club s ranges would be closed for two days, the 2 nd Sunday and Monday in August. It will be run by John and Ben, (900 Bulls Eye and Prone). More info to follow at a later time. Committee Motion by Mike Horne; Asking $ prize money for the Big Buck contest in December. o First Place Adult $60.00, Second Place Adult $ First Place Junior $ Rules of the Big Buck Contest Adult contestant must be a member in good standing of the MFRGC. Junior contestants must be related to an adult member of the MFRGC. All Horn entries must be harvested in the State of WI. All Horn entries must be harvested on Free Range (No fenced in deer farms!). All entries must have proof of a WI Deer Tag used for submitted Horn s. All Horns must have been harvested during the 216 Bow/Gun/Muzzleloader Season. Owners of Horns must be present to win. No Road Kill or Found Horns will be legal for judging. Boone & Crocket Scoring will be used to determine winning entries The Club Chairman announced to the members, we need a secretary to take over for the club business and a reminder there will be three opening on the board next year. Members of the club, please consider taking over any of these posts. The Raffle of $38.00 was won by Mike Brendel. Let me know if you want a paper copy; or I can you a copy. ***IMPORTANCE NOTICE TO ALL COMMITTEE CHAIRS*** If your committee runs organized shooting events at the club, you need to read this notice. When you run your events you will need to collect the following information: 1) Number of events or matches. 2) Number of shooters attending all events and matches. 3) Number of junior participants under the age of 21. 4) Number of female junior participants under the age of 21. 5) Number of female participants. 6) Number of female club members (Adult). 7) Number of members that obtained instructor certificates or attended instructor update training during the year. 8) Number of members attending Camp Perry National Matches. You should include this information in your annual report to the board. It will then be combined and reported to CMP. SERVICE & SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD This is a special recognition, for those who have made outstanding voluntary contributions to the Club. These people have to be nominated by Members such as YOU. Unless you nominate this person; his or her contributions to the club will go unrewarded. We are sure you know someone, who deserves this award. The winners of this award will have their names placed on the plaque in the Club House. They will, also, receive a large plaque noting the award and year given, and a patch to wear on a shirt or jacket. 3
4 THE GUIDELINES ARE AS FOLLOWS: A nominee must be a member in-good-standing or, if no longer a member, the nominee must have been in good standing upon leaving the club. The member sponsoring a nominee must be in good standing. The sponsor must submit a short letter, describing the nominee s service or contributions. Please send or give your nomination to the Secretary or any Board Member. NOTE: Please DO NOT use the person s name in the letter, but attach his or her name on a separate piece of paper. The Board Chairman for the purpose of reviewing the nominations will appoint a committee consisting of two past recipients of the award, two board members, and two general members of the club. Years of membership, alone shall not make one eligible for this award. However, longevity should be given serious consideration, when coupled with active membership. The word active as used here does not refer to members who use the facilities, but rather, that the nominee has voluntarily served on a committee, as a member of the board, or made some outstanding contribution to this club. Nominations MUST be in no later than the OCTOBER BOARD MEETING, so that they may be duly processed, and presentations made at the annual club meeting in January. BUIDING AND GROUNDS Greg Sieber Committee Chairman PH: On October 1st we had the fall workday for the club and got a lot accomplished. Thanks to the members that came out for this. If you still need work hours, there are still a few things that need to get done. Contact the committee chair for additional items needing taken care of. Throughout the year, you can contact him for work hours. You do not need to wait for the spring or fall club workdays.
