We had one new members; Harold Combs which we initiated. We also had a member that had not been there for several years, S/M Darrell Osborn. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and the Preamble to the Constitution of the FRA was repeated by all members. A motion was made by S/M Don Brunk to dispense with reading the minutes of last meeting FEBRUARY 25, 2016 and approved as published in the MARCH 2016 Newsletter, seconded by S/M Don Doss and motion passed. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: AMERICANISM/PATRIOTISM - S/M Bobbie Combs reported: He had received a check from NCR Essay Chairman that he forwarded to the participant. PUBLIC RELATIONS S/M Nolan Moody reported on: Mentioned that the Springfield Vet s Center will be hoisting an Open House Event to commemorate the Vietnam Veterans 50 th Anniversary on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10 AM 2 PM. There will be 7 Vets sent back to Viet Nam and will be returning to Springfield on 3/27/2016 at 12:39. It would be great to have as many people as possible there to welcome them back. JCF s next meeting will be on 6/23/2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Park. Lunch will be provided. On 5/7/2016 Convey of Hope will service Veterans in need. On 6/14/2016, VFW 3404 will host a Community and Vets service to the community, at Lincoln Hall at OTC On Thursday 8/18/2016, United Way will sponsor the 24 th Annual Day of Caring. YOUTH S/M Chuck Ewy reported: Branch 316 had received 20 Shrine Circus tickets in the mail and he contacted Cub Scout Pack 694 to see if they could use them. COMMUNICATIONS S/M Secretary made available to all Shipmates: from Whiteman AFB on ( Retiree Appreciation Day 10/1/2016 ). FRA March Membership Newsletter. TREASURERS REPORT S/M Secretary gave the Treasurers report. All Bills paid. UNFINISHED AND DEFERRED: S/M President mentioned the Building Committee is working on a new home for Branch 316. One possibility is at AL 639 building a new building to house several different VSO, FRA being one. A lot of discussion followed. We are thinking of scheduling a couple of meetings there and we will also check into having our Installation of Officers there in June. NEW BUSINESS:

3 S/M President asked for volunteers for the Nominations Committee: S/M s Don Brunk, Chuck Ewy, and Bobbie Combs volunteered. S/M Secretary furnished a form for the committee to submit a slate of officers on. S/M Secretary proposed having a celebration at our April meeting on the 50 Year Anniversary of our Branch Charter. S/M Sid Smith made a motion that we have a Celebration of our 50 Year Anniversary of Ozark Empire Branch 316 s Charter. Motion seconded by S/M Don Doss and passed. GOOD OF THE ORDER: None S/M Secretary made a motion to adjourn, seconded by S/M Nolan Moody. Passed. Meeting Adjourned 1910 MEMBERS WHOS RENEWAL DATE IS ON APRIL : Jimmie Shehi and Greg Shilts.
