2 Minutes of the Canvass Committee Meeting Denali Borough Assembly Tri-Valley Community Center November CALL TO ORDER Chairman Gerald Pollock called the Canvass Meeting to order at 6:30 pm. ROLL CALL Canvass Committee members present: Armeda Bulard, Gerald Pollock, Sid Michaels, Bob Shelton, Teresa Hall, David Evans and Paul Schenk. Absent: Eileen Holmes and Baxter Mercer. MICHAELS MOVED to excuse HOLMES and MERCER, HALL seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. AGENDA APPROVAL PUBLIC COMMENTS COMMITTEE COMMENTS REVIEW PRELIMINARY HALL MOVED to approve the agenda and MICHAELS seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. Larisa Pollock thanked the canvass committee for the pizza. There were no committee comments. The canvassing committee reviewed the mailed in preliminary election results with the hand carried results. EVANS MOVED to include the additional John Winklmann on the West Central Preliminary results. SHELTON seconded. HALL MOVED to approve the preliminary results, SCHENK seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. If this proposition passes, pursuant to Denali Borough Code of Ordinances, Chapter , compensation for members of the Denali Borough Planning Commission will also automatically increase from $25.00 to $50.00 per month with the chairperson receiving $62.50 per month. 374 Yes 280 No ABSENTEE BALLTOS The committee reviewed the absentee ballot list provided by the election clerks. The absentee ballots were removed from the envelopes and placed in the ballot box. HALL read the ballots while the committee tallied. Borough Clerk, Gail Pieknik oversaw the reading of the ballots. QUESTIONED The Canvass Committee reviewed the questioned ballot list. Denali Borough Canvass Committee 3

5 BALLOTS MICHAELS MOVED to accept numbers 4, 7, 0,, 4, 5, 6, 9, 20, 2, 23, and 24. HALL seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. HALL MOVEDtocount only the proposition on numbers 9, 26,27, 28, 29, and 3 because the voter voted the wrong ballot. MICHAELS seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. HALL MOVED to exclude, 3, 25 and 32 because they did not register 30 days prior to the election. BULARD seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. MICHAELS MOVED to exclude numbers 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 2, 7, 8, 22, 30, 33, and 34 because they are not registered to vote in the Denali Borough. BULARD seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. Question ballots 4, 7, 0,, 4, 5, 6, 9, 20, 2, 23, and 24 were removed from the affidavit envelope and placed in the ballot box. HALL read off the votes and Pieknik oversaw the reading of the ballots while the committee tallied. Questioned ballots 9, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 3 were removed from the affidavit envelope and placed in the ballot box. HALL read off the votes on the proposition only. Pieknik oversaw the reading of the ballots and the committee tallied the votes. SCHENK MOVED to combine the spelling of John Winklmann on Assembly Seat F, EVANS seconded. The VOTE was unanimous.
