Welcome of Guests Welcome to the meeting of the Fairfax Elementary School District Board of Trustees. This meeting is held in compliance with the State of California and County of Kern sunshine laws. We have a place on the agenda to hear from members of the public who attend our meetings. It is good if you can call the Superintendent before the meeting and have a place on the agenda for any issue you want to talk about. However, if you haven't done that, you may fill out a form provided for you and give it to the Board before the meeting begins. Each item on the agenda can be discussed by members of the public. Twenty minutes are provided for each agenda item. Several people can speak during these twenty minutes. We do hope that you in attendance will refrain from visiting during the meeting as this can be disconcerting to the Board members. Thank you for being here. C. PUBLIC COMMENTS

6 C.1. Public Comment Procedure A person wishing to be heard by the Board shall first be recognized by the president and shall then proceed to comment as briefly as the subject permits. Individual speakers shall be allowed no more than five minutes to address the Board on each agenda or non-agenda item. The Board president shall not permit any disturbance or willful interruption of Board meetings. Persistent disruption by an individual shall be grounds for the president to terminate the privilege of addressing the Board. The Board may remove a disruptive individual. Individuals who disrupt a Board meeting may be guilty of violating California Penal Code a misdemeanor. D. RECOGNITION SECTION D.1. Empowering Employee Award: Gloria Mendez The district recognizes the hard work of Gloria Mendez, Fairfax Junior High PE Aide, by honoring her with the Empowering Employee Award. The award is granted to an employee within the school district who performs her duties with pride, positive spirit, and a sense of teamwork. This award granted through nomination from school sites/department administrators and chosen by the Superintendent. D.2. Golden Apple Award: David and Terry Oxley/ Oxley's Pest Control The District would like to recognize the dedication to our students of David and Terry Oxley by awarding them the Golden Apple Award. The Golden Apple is awarded to community individuals or groups who have given time, energy, resources, etc to the children of our school district. E. REPORTS E.1. Superintendent's Report The Superintendent will report to the Board about various matters involving the District. There will be no action taken unless listed on a subsequent agenda. No discussion except questions or matters referred to staff. E.2. Stakeholder's Report - CSEA E.3. Board Report Members of the Board may report about various matters involving the District. There will be no Board discussion except to ask questions or refer matters to staff and no action will be taken unless listed on a subsequent agenda. F. CONSENT SECTION

Consent Section Approval NOTICE: All matters listed under the consent agenda are considered by the Board of Trustees to be routine or sufficiently supported by prior or accompanying reference materials and information as to not require additional discussion. They will be enacted by a motion as reference below.
