1 DIERINGER SCHOOL DISTRICT #343 BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR BOARD MEETING DIERINGER SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE MINUTES Call to Order October 30, 2017 Monday Acting Board Chair John McKenna called the Board meeting to order at the District Office at 7:03 p.m. Roll Call Members present: Hilary McCabe, John McKenna, Chelsea Steiner, Andy Hart and Superintendent Judy Martinson. Monte St. Johns arrived at 7:12 p.m. and assumed Board Chair duties. Flag Salute John McKenna led the flag salute. Agenda Revisions Three items were added to the personnel report. Correspondence None Consent Agenda Chelsea Steiner moved the approval of the Consent Agenda including the following items: Minutes from September 25, 2017 Item #14: September/October Payroll / October Vouchers Item #15: September Interest Hilary McCabe seconded the motion. Acting Board Chair John McKenna called for the vote and the motion carried. Recognition of Guests Guests present were: Pat Webster, Principal LTES; Kevin Anderson, Principal DHES; Nate Salisbury, Principal NTMS; David Uberti, Asst. Principal NTMS; La Jean Rohland, Executive Director of Finance; Amy Bateman, Technology Integration Coach LTES; Janice Reid, Assessment Manger; Michael Allen, Supervisor of Transportation; Julie Romano, Heather McCann, Christy VanDyke, Tammy Zulauf, Marla Doyle Teachers; and Greg Garrison and Scott Reisnouer, Board Member-Elects.

2 Minutes October 30, 2017 Page 2 Public Input Old Business Item #31: Technology Update New Business Item #08: Out-of-Endorsement None Amy Bateman, LTES Technology Integration Coach, presented the Board with an update on technology at LTES. Topics included devices that had been rolled out at each grade level, staff development and keyboarding. The Dieringer School District currently has two teachers, Eric Spring and Leif Peterson, who are assigned to teach leadership classes which are out of their areas of instructional endorsement per WAC It is requested the Board approve these placements. Hilary McCabe moved approval of the out-of-endorsement placement, as presented. John McKenna seconded the motion. Chair Monte St. Johns called for the vote, and the motion carried. Item #09: Resolution Resolution provides for the required roll back of $242,500 from the 2018 Maintenance and Operation Levy collection per state formula. John McKenna moved approval of Resolution , as presented. Chelsea Steiner seconded the motion. Chair Monte St. Johns called for the vote, and the motion carried. Item #10: Educational Programs and Technology Levies La Jean Rohland, Executive Director of Finance, presented preliminary information on the Educational Programs levy and Technology Levy. Item #11: Donations The PTAs of the Dieringer School District provide wonderful support for our students, staff and community through their generous gifts of time, special opportunities and financial supports. Acceptance of their financial donations of $60, through August is requested. Hilary McCabe moved acceptance of the PTA donations, as presented. Chelsea Steiner seconded the motion. Chair Monte St. Johns called for the vote, and the motion carried. Item #12: Assessment Update Kevin Anderson provided the Board with the annual update on student performance as it relates to the School Improvement Plans approved by the Board in December 2016.

Hilary McCabe seconded the motion. Chair Monte St. Johns called for the vote, and the motion carried. Financial Items *Item #14: Payroll/Warrants/ Vouchers September Payroll: Payroll warrants # #21470 and Direct Deposits # #22276 for a payroll of $1,034, plus benefits of $411, for a total payroll of $1,446, including A/P warrants # #21498 for a total of $471, payable on September 29, October Payroll: Payroll warrants # #21506 and Direct Deposits # #22537 for a payroll of $1,012, plus benefits of $402, for a total payroll of $1,415, including A/P warrants # #21535 for a total of $463, payable on October 31, August General Fund Warrants: Warrants #21536 through #21612 for a total of $327, Capital Projects Fund Warrants: Warrant #21613 through #21621 for a total of $355, Associated Student Body Fund Warrants: Warrant #21622 through #21629 for a total of $6, Transportation Fund Warrants:

The General Fund is presented in both the fund balance and the cash balance format. General Fund revenues of $1,425, plus a beginning fund balance of $1,206,093.92, less expenditures of $1,754, leaves a fund balance $877,183.22; and Capital Projects Fund revenues of $42, plus a beginning fund balance of $2,817, less expenditures (and other financing uses) of $899, leaves a fund balance of $1,961,143.73; and Debt Service Fund revenues of $84, plus a beginning fund balance of $1,985,455.13, less expenditures of $1, leaves a fund balance of $2,069,168.98; and Associated Student Body Fund revenues of $29, plus a beginning fund balance of $67, less expenditures of $8, leaves a fund balance of $87,682.61; and Transportation Vehicle Fund revenues of $82.46 plus a beginning fund balance of $167, less expenditures of $0.00 for a fund balance of $167, John McKenna moved the acceptance of the September budget status reports. Chelsea Steiner seconded the motion. Chair Monte St. Johns called for the vote and the motion carried. The F-196 year-end report, schedule of long-term liabilities, was presented for the Board s information. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 8:41 p.m. with no further action taken.
