CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by Chair Kaufman. 2. APPROVE/AMEND AGENDA Motion (Stankevich/Mans) to approve the agenda. Motion carried. No negative vote. 3. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS Kaufman recognized Glenn Broderick, County Supervisor, the news media, along with the County Administrator and County Board Chair. A special welcome was given to the newest Committee member, Ginger Deschane. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT (5 MINUTES). NO DISCUSSION. None. 5. APPROVE/AMEND MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2017 MEETING Motion (Mans/Mandli) to approve the minutes. Motion carried. No negative vote. 6. CHAIRPERSON S REMARKS Chair Kaufman referred to the procedure for speaking and being recognized by the Chair, changing the format for future tours by either reducing number of tours or eliminate lunch and/or business meeting. Kaufman also noted an item from last month s meeting will not be brought up. 7. MARINETTE CO. TOURISM ALLIANCE # REVIEW LIST OF INVOICES FOR AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER, 2017 # TOURISM COORDINATOR KOSTREVA AND SUPERVISOR KAUFMAN - REPORT Kostreva gave an update on current advertising and his activities, including a snowmobile trade show. Members had in their packet lists of invoices paid for August and September. Page 1 of 3

3 Deschane reported on the recent Alliance meeting and concerns over the website and having input. There will be more information later on the possibility of a 501c3. # DISCUSS/CONSIDER COMMITTEE MEMBER APPOINTMENT TO THE TOURISM ALLIANCE TO FILL VACANCY. ACTION, IF ANY Motion(Mans/Mandli) to appoint Supervisor Deschane to the Tourism Alliance. Motion carried. No negative vote. Deschane will give up her current appointment representing the Crivitz Business Association on the Alliance. # FOR DISCUSSION ONLY - DMI STUDIOS WEBSITE CREATION PROPOSAL FOR THE TOURISM WEBSITE Lefebvre commented on the proposed website. It will go before the County Board for final approval and monies will come from the County Administrator s budget. (6) Referring back to item 6: Chair Kaufman noted that any issues about economic development and tourism should come before this Committee first. 8. CITY OF MARINETTE MAYOR STEVE GENISOT # REPORT ON PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING AN UPDATE ON THE NEW COMMUNITY SPORTS AND EVENTS CENTER None. 9. MARINETTE COUNTY ASSOCIATION FOR BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY (MCABI) # ANN HARTNELL, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - UPDATE ON PROJECTS, ACTIVITIES AND MEETINGS Hartnell noted that the office has moved to the Center for Excellence. Kaufman suggested having members visit the new building. Hartnell referred to business startups and expansions, the loan fund and need for broadband. She reported on the economic summit event held last month at the UW Marinette campus and hosted by the Stephenson National Bank and Trust, which featured the President of POLICOM Corporation. Discussion followed. Kaufman asked about signage for the waterfalls and Mans noted they are being updated. 10. DISCUSS WORKING WITH FLORENCE COUNTY ON A WATERFALLS JEM GRANT. ACTION, IF ANY Kostreva gave an update. He has met with Wendy Geldhoff and will be meeting with Jeff Anderson, from the State Department of Tourism this week. Application deadline is April, Kostreva noted that this a destination marketing grant. 11. REPORT AND/OR DISCUSS CONFERENCES/SEMINARS/MEETINGS # DISCUSS/CONSIDER ATTENDANCE AND PAYMENT FOR GROWING YOUR BUSINESS WISELY, OCTOBER 31 AND NOVEMBER 21, AT MARINETTE NORTHCOAST CAMPUS. ACTION, IF ANY Motion (Mans/Stankevich) to allow anyone from the Committee who wants to attend. Motion carried. No negative vote. Page 2 of 3

ACTION, IF ANY Motion (Stankevich/Deschane) to allow anyone from this Committee interested in attending. Motion carried. No negative vote. Regarding registration for the upcoming New North Summit, which was previously approved, Mans will replace Grebin. 12. CORRESPONDENCE. ACTION IF ANY. (CORRESPONDENCE, IF NOT SPEC. LISTED, WILL BE FOR INFORMATION ONLY) None. 13. MARINETTE TRAVEL-WELCOME CENTER - JUDY ALWIN, MANAGER # REPORT ON PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES No report. 14. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS An update will be given about the JEM (destination marketing) grant. 15.
