2 Bio for Michelle Wall Michelle was born and raised in St George, UT., graduated from Snow Canyon High School in 2001 and then attended Dixie State College were she graduated with a certificate in Surgical Technology. She worked at St George Surgical Center as a surgical tech in the operating room, and also ran materials management for the center. In 2008 Michelle moved to Salt Lake City, UT to work at St Marks Hospital in the operating room for 6 years. She was one of the first at the hospital to train on the Da Vinci Robot and later became the robotic coordinator for St Marks Hospital. She was featured in the Salt Lake Tribune with Dr. John Griffin, as the first to complete colo-rectal surgery with the Da Vinci Robot in the state of Utah. While living in SLC, she attended nursing school at Ameritech College, and graduated in 2012 with an Associate Degree in Nursing and continued to work at St Marks as an Operating Room Nurse until September 2013 when she took her nursing degree to a whole new level by becoming a traveling OR nurse. During the next three years Michelle lived and worked in 6 states (Idaho, Wisconsin, Arizona, Texas, Maryland, and Maine) as well as St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. As a travel nurse, Michelle grew both personally and professionally and completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing as well. Each of her travel assignments prepared her for future assignments and ultimately attending to victims of the Las Vegas Shooting on the night of October 1, Michelle had accepted a management position at Las Vegas Sunrise Hospital in Nevada's largest operating room in June She was both scared and overwhelmed and often found herself wondering if she had what took to be successful in running such a large OR. Three months later Michelle signed on to work at Sunrise Hospital permanently, and currently manages its operating room.
3 President s Message Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Christmas is almost here! I look forward to celebrating Jesus' birth and enjoying the blessings of family. We had an amazing showing of donations to TansTreats at our December meeting. The Giving Tree was full! Thank you! Many children will be grateful for your compassion. It was so fun to meet past presidents and honor them at our December meeting as well. As installations took place and a new Executive Committee was installed, I want to say thank you to everyone I've worked with. It's been a joy! January's luncheon's guest speaker will be Michelle Wall, our own Yvonne Wall's daughter. Michelle is the Charge Nurse at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and was there in the aftermath of the Las Vegas Shooting on October 1st. I'm looking forward to hearing about her experiences. I hope you'll join us. Last week, your new Executive Committee and Board of Directors met to plan I'm so excited to work with these ladies. They are all amazing. We have some great luncheons planned and I look forward to what Courtney has in store for us. We have a few other events coming up too, so be on the look out for more adventures. FRIENDLY REMINDER: a reservation made is a reservation paid. When you RSVP please remember that if you've reserved a plate, we need you to pay for that plate. And remember that you can pay online at God Bless each of you and God Bless America! Lesa Sandberg
