2 International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW) is a non-governmental organization focused on advocacy, knowledge-building and technical assistance projects in various areas of social development carried out at the country level and internationally; Est in Paris Close Partnership with IASSW (International Association of Schools of Social Work), and IFSW (International Federation of Social Work)

7 The Mission Promote social and economic development, that reduce poverty, hardship and vulnerability throughout the world, especially amongst disadvantaged people, Strive for recognition and protection of fundamental rights to food, education, health care and security as it believes that these rights are an essential foundation for freedom, justice and peace, Seek to advance equality of opportunity, freedom of selfexpression, participation and access to human services, Advocate policies and programmes which strike an appropriate balance between social and economic goals and which respect cultural diversity and to seek implementation of these proposals by governments, international organisations and others.
