November 6, 2018 Freedom is nothing else but a chance to be better. Albert Camus The Anne Arundel Board of Election and the Election Worker Department would like to give a big, THANK YOU and GREAT JOB!! to all of the Chief, Provisional, and Voting Operations Judges. Just know your continuous commitment to serve the community is appreciated. The Anne Arundel County Board of Elections recognizes your dedication and hard-work in the election process. We know you don t have to do this, so we are thankful that you do. From the AABOE Pay Increase Contact Information: Election Worker Department Phone: (410) electionjudges@aacounty.org We are pleased to announce that our Election Judges are getting a pay raise! Voting Operations Judges and Provisional Judges will earn $165 for their service and Chief Judges and Floater Judges (all positions) will earn $225. The new pay rates include Early Voting. The pay for attending training will remain $25 per training session. 1

2 Changes to Election Judge Training Refresher Training will begin on August 20, 2018 for all Chief and Provisional Judges. Your coordinators will be in contact with you to schedule your session. The refresher training includes a review of the materials and plenty of hands on practice with the voting equipment. Training before Election Day Hands-on training for the Gubernatorial Election cycle is mandatory by law for all Election Judges, regardless of whether they worked in previous elections. You have to be trained if you intend to work on Election Day. We DO NOT allow anyone who has not attended training before Election Day to serve as an Election Judge. Anyone who shows up to a polling place without the proper documentation or their name assigned to that location will be asked to leave the building. This is for the security and well being of all persons working and voting at that site. Assessment If you have not completed the pre-training assessment yet, please do so. Your coordinator can send you a link which takes you to the Election Judge Training Login Page; or you can use the address below: Call for Log In Information #SAPP4AABOE Sponsor a Polling Place for Anne Arundel Board of Elections Do you belong to a Club, Community Association, Business, Church, or other Organization that might be interested in sponsoring a polling place? If your group is interested in Sponsoring a Polling Place contact Nicole Hill, Recruitment or at nicole.hill@maryland.gov As always should you not work Election Day you will not receive payment for your training class session. 2
