8 Pierce County Public Voting Forum October 1,2008 Venue: Location of the event (access, parking, facility, etc): 4.6 (25 votes) Comments Drove from lacey, WA. Directions on MapQuest. Really good and locations too I will do anything possible that I can do for any of the events like this The size of people I used the bus was adequate for this activity * Great location Easy to get to Couldn't be better! Timing: Time of day and time of year for fomm: 4.6 (24 votes) Comments: * Need to start earlier God time for people that need time to work, do errands during the late afternoon. Time good Anytime 'I am retired and did not have any trouble with the timing Perfect Good time Perhaps look forward - there were so many forums happening at the same time! Promo tion: Advance publicity information: 3.8 (23 votes) Comments: Fast info...shared wish business cards of each who wanted them. Would have been provided. I would like to get involved with more for the handicapped Advance notice was ok for me? Hard to find out about. I go to a lot of political events and on1 y saw a flyer once The phone number was wrong! * 582?
9 Event Organization: The forum schedule: 4.7 (24 votes) Comments: Need to give cart provider a break Great program Tt was up to beat! The forum was better than nothing. However, the time allowed for person was not concentrated enough to really be useful. Well done. Got a tot in Shorter time for speakers Lots of variety CFI knows how to get the job done!!! Maybe include County Exec & Council candidates on separate night? Polished Voter Registration Activities: Register to Vote: 4.9 (19 votes) Information on Rank Choice: 4.4 (2 1 votes) Party Political Information: 4.1 (19 votes) Comments: More time for questions Thanks! * OK a N/A saw the set up, Great! I am registered to vote and 1 am voting absentee I was already registered. The rank choice was useful. Candidate's time was too short - but adequate time may be quite impossible Didn't see political party info RCV is stiii confusing. How this doesn't violate on man, one vote, I'll never know. Working in politics, the explanation of RCV was informative even for me! Had already registered but it was a good opportunity for those who haven't
10 Disability Information : Information booths: 4.5 (26 votes) Comments Not enough clients * Greatjob Good pamphlets Booth info was good Kind of crowded in the hall * Hallway was a tough place to meet and greet Learned a lot of new things Go CFI - you rock! Very informative Navigating the Election: Understanding how it works: 4.5 (25 votes) Comments: Interesting new tech. PowerPokt This info was tlsehl * Easy to understand Rank voting is conhsing Meet and Greet the Candidates: 4.4 (24 votes) Comments Good participation from candidates - thanks for focusing them on disability issues Good Greatjob That was fun! Talked to Ed & thought 1 knew him from maybe DVR but, of course, it is the news. How fumy. We had a conversation about chiid trafficking and DV The time was too short to learn anything. Maybe the time in the hall could help Wonderful how you kept them in the time frame! One person (candidate) talked to me See first * I wish more would've showed, but not your fault * Would like a forum with debates and questiodanswer period Make it easier to identify candidates. Look at those done by Parent Coalitions in their Forums Forum Eva1 Page 3 of 4
11 Conclusion: How useful was the Forum to prepare you to vote at the November 4,2008 General Election: 4.6 (25 votes) Comments : need sample ballots Learning about new laws trying to be passed rather against or for rights for the disables This forum was useful compared to nothing, I don't know how it could be improved * Candidate Super * Lots of good info I like being able to vote in person at CFI instead of mailing Any Additional Cornmen ts (likes or dislikes and suggestions for future election events): Great job, thank you! I think you did okay + start at 5:30/ 6 is too late 1 tmly appreciated the lecture on ranked voting. I loved being able to use the accessible voting machine This was informative & E need t Ieam more of the Pros and Cons of legislative bills and RCWs I really liked being able to use the accessible voting machine The effort expended was admiral. As always, things could be better. Time per candidate was short. But time required is difficult to define * Excellent food! Great food? Keep up the good work? More on electronic voting machines and how your vote is safe Great food!!! Do this again. Maybe you could do breakout sessions so you could spend more time on topics * Great food - great speakers!!! Great event? Thanks Very impressive! Thank you for hosting this!! Forum Eva1 Page 4 of 4
