1 Dear Members, We need you at the AGM on the 14 July 2017 and your active participation at the biennial Executive Council Election. On behalf of the present Council ( ), I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your membership and commitment to our Association. It is only through your participation and contribution, are we able to establish dynamic movement for the term. It has been two years since we embarked on this course of growth together while working closely with each other, various partners in the industry and government agencies. We have witnessed a restructured orientation and direction in our Association by being allocated to specific tasks. This space allows each of us to recognize and leverage our individual advantages as a member and as our own unique firms, shaping the core and corners of our industry. Some of the key tasks we have embarked on: - We have observed a change in our secretariat functions from SingEx to Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI). SCCCI provides us a larger platform to engage in various partnerships, expanding our perspectives through ideation and creation of knowledge in our industry. They support us as SMEs, heightening our level of accessibility and efficiency. - We have witnessed increased outreach initiatives with our quarterly member networking and sharing session; meet the members visit and escalate matters concerning issue such as our nursery land and took necessary paths to address them accordingly. - We will continue to provide feedback, monitor and negotiate with the members of the Tripartite Cluster for Landscape (TCL) on Progressive Wage Model (PWM) on its implementation and progress. 1

2 - We were and actively involved in key platforms of the industry, such as the Build Environment (BE) on the Industry Transformation Roadmap co-chaired by Minister Desmond Lee and CapitaLand CEO Mr Lim Ming Yan. On the Education front, we acted as one of the stakeholders, providing our feedback and concerns to the committee of Landscape Sector Coordination Committee chaired by Ministry of Education (MOE). - As we continue to strive for growth in public awareness of our industry, programs such as Green thumbs stand as our pride representing our efforts to outreach to the younger generation. With better education and access to technology, tomorrow s generation typically emphasizes on creating business with their passion and it is our responsibility to support and create awareness of our niche industry. Marking the end of our term, my Executive Council and I will be presenting an industrial roadmap we have developed. This roadmap paints our plans for today and tomorrow, enhanced by our key strategies and initiatives that will be building our Association and industry in Singapore for the future. Understanding our fruitful journey thus far, this AGM will be an important milestone both for our Association and as individual members. Not only will it be a time to discuss our opportunities and challenges for the past two years, we need you, a dynamic, enthusiastic, committed individual to step forward to help shape our industry to a greater height. 10 PROPOSED CHANGES TO CONSTITUTION OF LANDSCAPE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (SINGAPORE) To insert the following paragraphs to section 9 of the Constitution of Landscape Industry Association (Singapore) 9.10 To appoint the recently retired Chairman as Immediate Past Chairman (IPC) for one 2-year term. The IPC will be invited to present in the committee meeting and his role is to facilitate the transition to and assist the new committee. IPC is a non-executive position and shall have no voting rights in any Committee meetings To appoint all past Council Chairman (who have served a minimum of 1 full-term) as Honorary Chairman To appoint past Council members (who have served a minimum of 3-term) as Honorary Council Member. The Honorary Council Member title shall be accorded to individual who have served at the Council and not the company they represent. The Council may invite Honorary Chairman and Honorary Council Member to attend Council meetings and tap on their experience and network. The Honorary Chairman and Honorary Council Member may be appointed to represent the association to attend External Meetings, lead a task-force and organize events. Honorary Chairman and Honorary Council Member are non-executive positions. They will not participate in Committee meetings and shall have no voting rights in any Committee meetings. 10
