9 Vacancy Notice Applications are invited from eligible Indian Nationals for the post of Light Vehicle Driver in the Chief Pay & Accounts Organization, A & N Administration. The number of post, scale of pay, eligibility criteria, etc. are given below: 1. Name of Post : Light Vehicle Driver 2. Number of vacancy : 01 (One) (Unreserved) 3. Scale of pay : PB-1, Rs Grade Pay-Rs 1900/- (Group C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) 4. Eligibility Condition: a. Age Limit : (i) 18 to 33 years NOTE: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application/name from Applicant/Employment Exchange. The age limit is relaxable upto 05 years for Govt. Servant & ST candidates and 03 years for OBC candidates in accordance with the instruction/orders issued by Govt. of India. Candidates belonging to the OBC of A & N Islands which are specified by the A & N Administration s Notification No. 343/2005/F.No. 8-3/2003-TW dated and subsequent Circular No. 8-3/2003-TW / 295 dated are only eligible to apply against vacancies reserved for OBCs. The candidates should furnish OBC certificate duly issued by the Competent Revenue Authorities (not below the rank of Tehsildar) of A & N Administration in terms of Admn s Circular No. 8-3/2003-TW/ 242 dated. 30 th March, b. Essential qualifications: (i) Must have passed secondary School Examination (10 th Standard) from a recognized Board/Institute (ii) Must possess valid Light Motor Vehicle driving license.

10 (iii) Must qualify trade test / Professional test. c. Desirable Qualification: (i) Three years experience in driving Light Motor Vehicle (ii) (iii) Knowledge of Motor Mechanism and capable of rectifying minor defects in the vehicle. Having good knowledge of Traffic Regulation. 5. Scheme of the Examination and Trade/ Professional Test. All the candidates are required to appear in the written test conducted by Chief Pay & Accounts Office, A & N Administration. The successful candidates of the written test will be called for trade test/ professional test which will be conducted by the Chief Pay & accounts Office with the assistance of Directorate of Transport, A & N Administration. The written as well as trade/professional test will be conducted at Port Blair. There will be one question paper of the written examination of 100 marks having Objective-Multiple-Choice-Type questions of elementary nature which will judge the knowledge of a person who has studied atleast upto the 10 th standard, and of his Driving/Traffic Rules. The candidates will have to secure a minimum qualifying mark of 40 % to be declared pass in the written exam. A merit list of selected candidates will be prepared and they will be called for the trade/professional test. The date of written examination and trade test will be intimated to the individual candidates by dispatching hall tickets and a general notice will also be published in the Daily Telegrams/ Official Website of A & N Administration. 6. Selection of Candidates Final selection for appointment to the post of LVD will be made on the basis of marks secured in the written examination subject to the candidates qualifying in the written examination as well as in the trade/professional test. On appointment to the post of LVD the official will be on probation for a period of Two years. 7. Documents to be attached with the application (i) (ii) Two copies of a recent passport size photograph in addition to photograph pasted in the application. The candidate should write his name on the back side of the photograph. Two self addressed envelops of 12cm X 25cm size affixing postage stamp of Rs on both the envelops. (iii) Attested copies of certificates regarding educational qualification, valid driving license and age of the candidates.

11 (iv) Attested copies of documents in support of claim of Other Backward Class / Schedule Tribe issued by the Revenue Authorities of A & N Administration (not below the rank of Tehsildar) (if age relaxation claimed being a candidate of ST/OBC). 8. Last date of submission of application & How to apply Completed applications in the prescribed format (in the A-4 size paper) (See Annexure) duly filled in English or Hindi alongwith the attested copies of certificate should be sent to the Senior Accounts Officer-IV, Chief Pay & Accounts Office, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Port Blair latest by (05.00 PM). Application received after the closing date will not be entertained under any circumstances. The Chief Pay & Accounts Office, Port Blair will not be responsible for the postal delay. The candidates already in Govt. employment must send their application through their respective Head of Office. Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct: Before submitting application, the candidates must carefully read the eligibility conditions for the examination and satisfy himself that he fulfills all the eligibility criteria. 12 (vii) Writing irrelevant matters including obscene languages or pornographic matter in the script, or (viii) Misbehaving in any other manner in the examination hall, or (ix) Using unfair means in the examination hall, or (x) Possessing Mobile Phones/Cellular Phones/Pagers/communication devices or any other unauthorized electronic gadget after commencement of the Examination inside the Examination premises/hall, whether in use or not (Candidates by mere possession of any of these items will be deemed to have been using unfair means and would accordingly be liable to disciplinary action as deemed fit, including ban from future examination conducted by the Administration), or (xi) Taking away the Question Booklet/Answer Sheet with him from the examination hall, or passing it on to unauthorized persons during the conduct of the examination, or (xii) Harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by the Administration for the conduct of these examination, or (xiii) Violation of any of the instructions issued to candidates alongwith their Admission Certificates permitting them to take examination, or (xiv) Attempting to commit, or as the case may be abetting the commission of all or any of the acts specified in the foregoing clauses, may, in addition to rendering himself liable to criminal prosecution, will be liable (a) to be disqualified by the Administration from the examination for which he is a candidate as also from any other examination/selection of the Administration in which he might have appeared but the final result/selection has not yet been declared/made, and/or (b) to be debarred either permanently or for a specified period which may extend upto 10 years:- (i) by the Administration from any examination or selection held by them; (ii) by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration/Central Government from any employment under them; and (c) to disciplinary action under appropriate rules if he is already in service under Government, or (d) to any other appropriate legal action.

13 10. General Information (i) (ii) The candidates are required to enclose only the attested copies of certificates with the application form. They must not send original certificate with their application form. The original certificate of the selected candidate will also be verified at the time of appointment. Application must be submitted in the prescribed format as given in the Annexure to this Vacancy Notice. (iii) Incomplete or un-signed applications are liable to be rejected/ cancelled.
