9 Publics: young people Berufsorientierung Oldtimer im Bezirk Oberwart Programme: European Social Fund Project number: 112/15-BGLFOE Project period: Jan Oct Contractor: BFI Burgenland This project provides an opportunity for technically-minded young people to learn more about work in the automotive, metal and electrical industries. To this end, the participants are instructed in dismantling and repairing an old tractor so that it becomes functional again. After the project the tractor is auctioned. 13 Publics: immigrants SpracheInklusive Programme: Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Project number: MI 01-05/2017/18 Project period: Jan Dec Contractor: Kärntner Berufsförderungsinstitut GmbH The target group of this project are non-eu nationals with prospects of long-term resident status, persons granted asylum and persons entitled to subsidiary protection in Austria. They attend a German language course with a focus on intercultural, social and labour market policy aspects to facilitate their sustainable integration into Austrian society. After an assessment process the participants can acquire a recognised ÖSD / ÖIF language certificate, depending on their command of German. In addition, they receive competenceand biography-oriented counselling to assist them with the recognition of foreign degrees, educational and career guidance as well as the presentation of formally and informally acquired competences. 14 Publics: immigrants SprachPflege Intensivvorbereitung für den Pflege- und Betreuungsbereich Programme: Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Project number: MI 02-06/2017/18 Project period: Jan Dec Contractor: Kärntner Berufsförderungsinstitut GmbH This project targets third-country nationals, persons granted subsidiary protection and persons entitled to asylum, preparing them for education and training in nursing and care by means of a German language course focusing on social and cultural aspects, labour market policy and healthrelated topics as well as personal development. At the end of the course participants should be equipped with the language and personal skills required to start training as nursing assistants or carers. The project was developed in response to a rising demand for multilingual staff in a variety of health care institutions. 15 Publics: immigrants Fachwerkstatt04 ein Projekt zur arbeitsmarktnahen Qualifizierung Programme: Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Project number: MI 02-03/2017/18 Project period: Jan Dec Contractor: BFI Oberösterreich The preparatory courses in health and social care work, metalwork and for work in the catering and hospitality industry available within the framework of this project provide qualifications for people who have been granted asylum or who are entitled to subsidiary protection and who are preparing to enter the workforce, and they facilitate access to vocational education and training. 17 Publics: skilled workers Initiative 50 plus Schulung & Coaching & Integrationsmodelle für BeraterInnen für arbeitslose Menschen über 50 in Südböhmen und Oberösterreich Programme: ERDF Project number: ATCZ 68 Project period: Apr Sept Contractor: BFI Oberösterreich This project pursues three goals: to counter the increase in unemployment among people aged 50 and over; to develop, advance, exchange and share good approaches to keeping the over 50s in employment; to enhance the communication between stakeholders in politics, administration and business, as well as representatives of employees and employers, and civil society in the region. To this end, joint cross-border training programmes for advisers of older unemployed people and heads of HR at companies in the border region, a transfer conference, a manual and a network of experts are planned. Offering joint training to Czech and Austrian advisers in the traditional commuter belt of Southern Bohemia / Upper Austria is a pioneer approach. 19 Publics: young people Produktionsschule Murtal/Murau Programme: European Social Fund Project number: Project period: Jan Dec Contractor: BFI Steiermark This project targets young people who need to catch up on basic, social and personal skills. It is aimed at helping participants acquire the skills they lack in a personalised way so as to make the transition from school to working life easier. The project is implemented at the BFI training venues in Spielberg and Murau (Styria). It includes three modules (getting started, orientation and training and specialisation), and is built on four cornerstones: practical training (with a focus on woodwork, administration and office work), coaching, skills workshops (for acquiring basic skills, IT skills and life skills) and sports. 20 Publics: immigrants ABC-Café Programme: LEADER Project number: L7-LEADER14_20-KUFU-24 Project period: Aug Dec Contractor: Stadtgemeinde Kufstein Austria ABC-Café in Kufstein (Tyrol) is a course for persons whose first language is not German and who want to improve their German language skills and learn more about life in Austria. They learn, practise, revise and consolidate their German speaking and writing skills. The focus is on the proper usage of German in specific everyday situations. The course takes place in a cafe atmosphere to enable an informal exchange and discussions on integration issues that are relevant to the participants. 21 Publics: immigrants Pole Position Startklar für den Arbeitsmarkt Programme: Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Project number: MI 02-80/2017/18 Project period: Jan Dec Contractor: BFI Tirol Bildungs GmbH Pole Position is aimed at the acquisition and development of technical and work-related German language skills in order to improve the vocational competence and facilitate the sustainable integration into the Tyrolean labour market of the target group: third-country nationals, persons entitled to asylum and persons granted subsidiary protection with prospects of long-term resident status. The participants in the vocational preparation courses receive sound information on the Austrian labour market and acquire specific theoretical and practical knowledge for getting started in commercial and technical jobs, the retail trade, sales, the catering and hospitality industry or in nursing and care. 22 Publics: SMEs Work-based Learning in a Digital Age Promoting Digital Competences for Better Employability and Innovation DC4WORK Programme: Erasmus+ Project number: DE02-KA Project period: Oct Sept Contractor: IHK-Projektgesellschaft mbh Germany DC4WORK focuses on the digital skills needed in the workplace 4.0. Staff of small and mediumsized enterprises in tourism and the retail trade are trained as mentors who identify digital qualification needs and propose appropriate training schemes in the familiar setting of the workplace. The goal is to enhance the digital competence of employees and thus to improve competitiveness and increase job security in the enterprises. 23 Publics: immigrants Top for Job Heranführung von jungen Flüchtlingen an die Lehrausbildung Programme: European Social Fund Project number: LRGVBG Project period: Feb Aug Contractor: BFI der AK Vorarlberg GmbH The Top for Job project is targeted on young refugees aged between 15 and 25 who are neither in education and training nor in employment. They are to obtain their compulsory school leaving qualification so that after this programme they can start vocational education and training. Being referred to the programme by the Public Employment Service, the young refugees go through a six-week introductory phase. It is then decided whether they are ready to take part in the 51-week training programme or whether they need to attend a preparatory course first. In the modular training programme the participants cover the examination subjects that are required for completing compulsory schooling and a German language course from A2 to B1. They also receive extra tutoring and one-to-one coaching. In addition, work placements in enterprises are organised in co-operation with a recruiter. Six cycles of the training programme are offered. 24 Publics: education institutions, skilled workers Five by Five Programme: Erasmus+ Project number: AT01-KA Project period: Sept Jun Contractor: BFI Wien Five by Five represents five European adult education organisations that make up a network for the exchange of best practices focusing on five key issues. These key issues are: migration, recognition of prior learning and the labour market; adult education and the digitalisation of the labour market; learning outcomes approach to education and training and the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET); media didactics and new media (social media, microlearning and game-based learning); new approaches to learner-centred didactics. For each of the five key issues knowledge communities are established for joint research, discussion and exchange of good practices. Ganzheitliche Sprachtrainings für Asylberechtigte und subsidiär Schutzberechtigte Programme: Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Project number: MI 01-89/2017/18 Project period: Jan Dec Contractor: BFI Wien This project targets adults entitled to asylum or subsidiary protection who already have basic skills: a variety of methods are used to teach them language skills and basic knowledge relevant for integration. A practical approach to developing language skills is pursued, with a focus on individual support for participants and skillsbuilding to facilitate active participation in further training courses or first steps into work. This is complemented by information, excursions and dialogue to raise awareness of social participation and responsibility, which the participants are supposed to actively spread as integration mentors in their communities.
