10 Education a high share of women are low skilled (Turkish women, women from former Yugoslavia) have completed tertiary education (e.g. EU-citizens, women from countries out of Europe) Labour market double discrimination part time jobs and low income blue collar positions in factories, as shop assistants, waitresses, care givers or cleaners

11 Laws The Austrian Immigration Law residence permits Fremdenpolizeigesetz regulates the objectives of the foreign police and also residence permits under 6 months The Asylum Law - status of asylum seekers The Aliens Employment Act - work permissions Citizenship Act Knowledge of the German language - the common European framework of reference for languages Integration agreement National Action Plan (NAP) for Integration

12 Some effects of the amendments of the Aliens Act 2006 and 2010: Women have to prove sufficient income and living space but this is more often a problem rejection of applications for family reunification problems with prolongation of the applications Independent residence permit e.g. in case of domestic violence restricting the reporting deadlines
