1 Mecklenburg UCC February 2016 Minutes Meeting opened at 10:07 by Chair, Matt Barringer Introductions around the room Review of January 2016 minutes. Motion to accept by Sam Gonzalez. Seconded by Roger Richards. Craig Miller, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services, spoke about City & County ordinances regarding run-off, storm drains, discharge, and violations. Containment, storage, and disposal is an issue. You can empty into a private pit that is contained and allow the discharge to dry. For areas over an acre you need a permit from the State of North Carolina. There are rental companies that supply containers for the discharge. Storm Water Services would rather avoid issuing citations and violations and would prefer compliance. Enforcement could include fines up to $5, per day. Craig will send an which is a draft he would like the group to review. ( sent)
2 Mecklenburg UCC February 2016 Minutes Discussion amongst group about methods and practices used for containment. NC811 February Presentation given by Tami Stout (click here for a link to previous presentations and minutes) Discussion about 3 hour tickets and the increase in number of tickets Question about RTE and the top 5 issues of tickets audited Damage roundtable Question about locating-when locating and marking, is each active facility marked? There was also a question about marking live lines and abandoned/dead lines. Remark from group-would like to see more attendance from NC811 board members Would like to hear from Charlotte-Mecklenburg about any boring/digging guidelines (requirements from City/Co government. Next meeting March 30 th, :00 am Piedmont Natural Gas 4301 Yancey Road, Charlotte.
