Christiansen, MSA (.20 CEU s) The accountant for KyCRA, Jackie Christiansen, will do additional training on the latest QuickBooks version. She is a certified training for QuickBooks. It will include working with bank accounts, entering sales information, receiving payment and making deposits, entering and paying bills, analyzing financial data, and doing payroll and customizing letters and tracking. 5:00-5:15 pm Break 5:15 6:15 pm Tax Savings for Court Reporters Jacqueline S. Christiansen, MSA (.10 CEU s) Jackie will spend an hour with the members discussing saving money and making better use of money that court reporters earn in their small business. Topics include HAS s, SEP s versus IRA s, help avoid IRS audits and insurance. This will be an entertaining seminar which will give our members tools of the trade from a very highly experienced court reporter in New York. 10:00 10:15 am Break 10:15 11:30 am Video Conferencing (.15 CEU s) Rick Coulter, Vice President, KyCRA Rick will speak about the impact that video conferencing can have on all aspects of freelance court reporting, particularly your bottom line. He will be speaking about both mobile video conferencing and office-based video conference rooms. Will Skype and/or FaceTime suffice? We will discuss the current market of video streaming products that provide realtime and where this market is headed for the future.

Her goal is to explain why court reporters should use social media and how to do so in the most efficient and effective manner. Specifically, she will discuss obtaining and maintaining a useful business Facebook page. She will also discuss LinkedIn and how to use it to promote your business and interact with clients and plans to discuss practical ways to interact with current and potential clients via social media and discuss proper etiquette in doing so. Jessie will cover which social media users are beneficial to interact with and how to do so (NCRA, suppliers, other entities in the legal community). She also plan to also briefly touch on a variety of other social media sites and discuss finding them beneficial to interacting in the legal community. 2:45 3:15 pm Break (visit vendors) 3:15-4:15 pm NCRA President Steve Zione What s Happening with NCRA - (.10 CEU s) Steve will discuss what s happening at NCRA. This will include the new reinstatement program and the new certification exam testing and any other new NCRA programs. He will talk about the recent NCRA Convention in New York City where he was elected President.

5 Saturday, September 25, :15 5:15 pm Responses from Attorney Survey Rick Coulter, Vice President KyCRA (.10 CEU s) The Board of Directors of our state association have agreed upon a short questionnaire that will be sent to attorneys in our state regarding the court reporting profession. The information from the results of this survey will be shared with our membership and discussion of its implications to how we do business with our end users.
