1 Draft Programme The purpose of the visit is to get an insight into the interlinkages between population dynamics and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) with broader development issues (.i.e. humanitarian and development nexus), including the general challenges on these issues in Uganda. Courtesy call with Arua District Local Government Leadership. Opportunity to discuss local impact of and response to refugee settlements. Briefing of ½ delegation in another car by UNFPA Country Representative Alain Sibenaler on SRHR situation in Uganda Opportunity to get first hand impression of refugee settlement initiatives on; 1) Gender-Based Violence - visit to safe space localities, opportunity to talk to personnel and beneficiaries to gain information on GBV situation, access to sexual and reproductive health and rights and discuss activities in the safe spaces and on preventive actions in the settlements. 2/ Visit rural families and discuss family size, family planning and how to give you children the best options in life. 3/ Meeting with Youth Champions about their wishes for the future and their engagement in society. 15:00-15:45 Drive to NURI farmer group within Rhino Camp, Offua 4 15:45-16:30 Visit Northern Uganda Resilience Initiative (NURI) Livelihoods projects farmer group New Generation. 45 min drive in direction of Arua. The project is part of the new Danish Country Programme for Uganda and aims to enhance resilience and equitable economic development for refugees and refugee-hosting communities in Northern Uganda. Farmer groups and youth are engaged in climate smart agriculture, rural infrastructure, and water resources management. This visit will focus on the farming element of the programme. UNFPA is to initiate a partnership with NURI to provide SRHR services to the farmers. 2

Visit will show how clinic offers integrated health services (contraceptive and other sexual and reproductive health services) and outreach services. On this Friday, the hospital hosts a fistula camp for women living with fistula offering them the opportunity to be assessed for possibilities of operation / cure. 3

4 The visit will provide opportunity for the delegation to discuss with users of the clinic their challenges in sexual and reproductive and the impact of these challenges on their lives. 14:00-14:30 Transport to Parliament 14:30-16:00 Q&A with Dr. Jotham Musinguzi, Director General of National Population Council and MPs Opportunity to get an insight into the population and related issues (family planning, sexual and reproductive health, human rights etc.), challenges, and opportunities in Uganda, and to get also political views on these issues. The format will focus on the possibility to debate the issues at hand. 16:00-16:30 Transport back to hotel 16:30-18:30 Break in programme At hotel 18:30-19:00 Transport to Danish Ambassador s Residence 19:00 Ambassador s Residence, Kololo Informal dinner (in Danish) for the delegation, embassy staff and Danish representatives of DanChurch Aid and Danish Refugee Council to discuss the refugee response and the humanitarian-development nexus in relation to Denmark s development engagement in Uganda. Day 3: Saturday 15 September - Kampala and departure 09:00-09:30 Transport to Bwaise Slum 9:30:11:30 Visit in Reproductive Health Uganda at the Bwaise slum clinics Visit will show how clinic offers integrated health services (contraceptive and other sexual and reproductive health services) and outreach services. The visit will provide opportunity for the delegation to discuss with users of the clinic their challenges in sexual and reproductive and the impact of these challenges on their lives potentially through home visits. 4
