CHECK IN WITH CLERK Upn arrival in t he curtrm, please ch eck-in with the Clerk s that yur matter may be called when bth parties arrive. If yu need an interpreter, please advise the Cle rk when yu check in. 5. COU RT REPORTERS Genera lly, Ca lendar 21 des nt have a curt reprter. If any party requires a curt reprter, it is generally the respnsibility f the party t prvide the curt reprter. 6. INTERPRETERS The Circuit Curt f Ck Cunty has Spa nish and Plish language interpreters n site. Hwever t here are ve ry few int erpreters cvering many curtrms. It is advisable t hat, when pssible, fr rutine matters such as statuses, that litigants bring smene with them wh can assist them with c urt interpretatin. Fr languages ther than Span ish and Pl ish, the Circuit Curt f Ck Cunty will arrange fr interpreters; hwever, a request must be made in advance. Please cntact t he Calendar 21 Crdinatr at least tw weeks in advance if an interpreter's services are needed. 7. While these mtins may als be brught in the afternn, the Cu rt will nt necessa rily break frm trials r hea rings t handle these matters. 8. EMERGENCY M OTIONS Emergency mtins shall be nticed fr 9:00 a.m. A curtesy cpy f the emergency mtin must be prvided t the Cle rk upn check-in if nt previusly prvided. 9. AGREED ORDERS Agreed rders, whether sched uled n the Curt's daily call, r heard as add-ns t the call, generally will be heard between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. While agreed rders may be cnsidered at ther times, t he C urt will nt necessarily break frm a hearing r a pretrial t hear agreed rders brught t the C urt later t han 10:30 a.m. Please check in with the Clerk 2

3 and advise her/him t hat y u have an agreed rder. This Curt des nt have an agreed rder line; yur ca se will be called by name and call number as sn as practicable. Agreed rders must be ca ptined as agreed. 10. STEPPING UP W HEN YOUR CASE IS CALLED When yur ca se is ca lled, please step up befre the judge and intrduce y urself by name, even if yu have bee n bef re the judge previusly. If yu are presenting a mtin, please have yur mtin, ntice f mtin, and cu rt dcuments ready t hand t the judge. 11. PROVE-UPS Unless a prve-up is scheduled by the Curt, an uncntested r default prve-up must be scheduled n the C urt's dcket by the Cle rk f the Curt f Ck Cu nty in Rm 802. When yu check in with the cle rk, please prvide her with the required prve-up dcuments, including a c urt reprter sheet if relevant, and advise her/him whether y ur matter is a default r an uncntested matter. Defa ult prve-ups may be reassigned if the Curt des nt have a curt reprter assigned fr the day. Fr case s inv lving children, please be prepared t advise the Curt whether the parties have cmpleted Fcu s n Children. If the parties have nt cmpleted Fcus n Children, they will be required t attend after prve-up. 12. POSTCARD PROGRESS CALL Cases are autmatically assigned t the Tuesday 1:45 p.m. pstcard prgress call by the Clerk f the Curt. When a matter is heard fr the first time n the Curt's prgress call, an attrney r party with knwledge f the case is expected t attend, and advise the Cu rt f the prgress f the case. If the parties have children, Fcus n Children will be rdered if nt previusly rdered. If a case des nt have any future dates after the prgress call date, the failure f at least ne party t appear will result in the case being dismissed fr want f prsecutin. 13. CONTESTED MOTIONS Cntested Mtins shall be sched uled fr fi rst presentment with the Clerk f the Circuit Curt f Ck C unty in rm 802 unless therwise rdered by the Curt. The Clerk f the Circuit Curt has apprxim ately 10 mtins slts per day fr this Calendar. It is suggested that a file stamped curtesy c py f the new mtin and the ntice f mtin be delivered prir t initial presentment, with ntice t the ppsing party. If a curtesy cpy is nt delivered prir t 3

4 initial presentment, t he Mtin and Ntice f Mtin must be tendered t the Curt upn presentment. The Curt will set a briefing sched ule and hearing date. Simple mtins may be heard n the date f presentment, at the C urt's discretin, if nt ppsed. Fr ease f scheduling hearings, please be prepa red t advise the C urt as t the amunt f time it will take t present and hear yur matter. PRETRIALS/CASE M ANAGEMENT CONFERENCES The Cu rt will sched ule its wn pretrials and case management cnferences. When requesting a pretrial, please be prepared t advise the Curt as t the amunt f time yu believe yu will need fr the pretrial, whether y u wuld li ke the parties t be present r available by telephne, and whether yu will req uest t he Curt waive the requirement f pretrial memranda. The C urt will re quire the parties t cmplete a pretrial/case management scheduling rder fr Calenda r 21 (attached as exhibit B. A date fr presentment f pretrial memranda will be scheduled fr all pretrials requiring memranda. Fa ilure f either party t present a memrandum may result in the pretrial being stricken. If pretrial memranda are waived by the Curt, the Curt r utinely will require the parties t prvide c urtesy cpies f the relevant pleadings and Disclsure Statements f the parties.
