The National Conference of State Legislatures is hosting its 36 th annual Legislative Summit this week. It is important that attend the Legislative Summit because it is one of the best ways to connect with other lawmakers across the country to work on new and current policy, says incoming NCSL President and Massachusetts state Senator Richard T. Moore. Highlights of the meeting include over 150 issue sessions to attend and three pre-conferences on energy, health care, and livability. There will also be speakers including Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Pollsters Peter Hart and Neil Newhouse, and Senator Mitch McConnell. NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the states, commonwealths and territories. It provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues and is an effective and respected advocate for the interests of the states in the American federal system. 2 News Pitch This year the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) will be hosting their annual Legislative Summit in Louisville. There will be over 4,000 state lawmakers and legislative staff from all across the country gathering in Louisville this July 25 to 28. Marquee speakers include former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and political pollsters Peter Hart, and Neil Newhouse. Kentucky s own Senator Mitch McConnell also will be addressing the group.
