4 HOLLIWEEN PARTY CONTESTS Pumpkin: We will have (25) pumpkins to issue on a first come basis on Friday, October 16, 9 a.m p.m., in the kitchen. They may be carved or decorated. You will be asked to bring them back to the Kitchen on Friday, October 23 between 9 a.m.-12p.m. They will be judged at our event on Saturday, October 24 and then used as table decorations before being returned to you. Costume: Put on your thinking cap and come dressed as a character, creature, or just be yourself. Judged categories for both: Most creative, Funniest, Most Scary Contest rules: You must have purchased a dinner ticket to be eligible to enter.
5 MODJESKA HOUSE & TUCKER WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Wednesday, October 7, 2015 Leave: 9 a.m. Depart Parking Lot A Return: 4:15 p.m. Cost: $31.00 Per Person Bag Lunch on Your Own Tip and Water Included Registration for this event begins: Tuesday, August 25 Registration Deadline: September 23 Limit: 45 Persons We will visit the century old home of Madame Helena Modjeska a famous Polish actress ( ). Her home is tucked away in the Santa Ana Mts. by the Santiago Creek. A 1 1/2 hour walking tour will take us through the years Madame Modjeska resided in her canyon home and along the rock-lined pathways of what she called the Forest of Arden. This home is now a natural landmark. (Wear walking shoes and a hat.) Then the bus will take us to the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary where there are picnic benches for us to have lunch. We will explore the native habitats along the family-friendly nature trails. There are benches for abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. This is voted one of Orange County's best birding sites and is a favorite for photographers and birders alike. Both tours are docent-led. Special events are open to members only.
