1 RESOLUTION No. a013 la I 01 To the HONORABLE MELVILLE BAILEY, Chairman, and Members of the Hawkins County Board of Commission in Regular Session, met this 16th day of December, 2013 RESOLUTION IN REF: APPROVAL OF DATES, TIMES AND PLACES FOR THE 2014 MONTHLY REGULAR COUNTY COMMISSION MEETINGS WHEREAS, the Hawkins County Commission meets monthly and each year sets the time, date and place for the next calendar year's monthly meetings. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following schedule be adopted for the calendar year January February March April *May June July August September October November *December FURTHER, that Special Called Meetings may be held with proper notice and Regular Scheduled meeting may be changed with proper notice. * The fourth Monday in May and December are within the holiday schedule. 2 RESOLUTION To the HONORABLE MELVILLE BAILEY, Chairman, and Members of the Hawkins County Board of Commissioners in Regular Session, met this 16th day of December, 2013 RESOLUTION IN REF: TO SELL ALL HAWKINS COUNTY SURPLUS EQUIPMENT INCLUDING SURPLUS TRASH TRUCKS, SHERIFF DEPARTMENT CRUISERS AND ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT AT A PUBLIC AUCTION HELD WITHIN HAWKINS COUNTY WHEREAS, some citizens have expressed that all surplus equipment should be sold at public auction to give Hawkins County taxpayers a chance to buy them; and WHEREAS, not all Hawkins County taxpayers have access to the internet and online bidding; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED all Hawkins County surplus equipment, including surplus trash trucks, Sheriff Department cruisers and any other surplus equipment will be sold at a public auction held within Hawkins County. 4 To the HONORABLE MELVILLE BAILEY, Chairman, and Members of the Hawkins County Board of Commission in Regular Session, met this 16th day of December, RESOLUTION IN REF: APPROVAL TO ACCEPT A RECOVERY DRUG COURT GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 FROM THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES A DIVISION OF GENERAL COUNSEL WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Mental Health And Substance Abuse Services, a Division of General Counsel, is offering to Hawkins County a Recovery Drug Court grant in the amount of $30, Said grant will be used in the General Session Recovery Drug Court program and will be administered by Judge Todd Ross. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that approval be given to accept the $30, Recovery Dmg Court grant from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and that Mayor Melville Bailey is authorized to sign all documents pertaining to this grant. 5 RESOLUTION ~o.aol31 la 105 To the HONORABLE MELVILLE BAILEY, Chairman, and Members of the Hawkins County Board of Commission in Regular Session, met this 16th day of December, RESOLUTION IN REF: APPROVAL TO ACCEPT HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT (HAVA) GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT $280,000 FROM THE STATE OF TENNESSEE DIVISION OF ELECTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING NEW VOTING MACHINES WHEREAS, the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) is offering grant funding to counties in the state for the purpose of purchasing new voting machines. Each county is allocated ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per precinct; and WHEREAS, Hawkins County has twenty-eight (28) voting precincts including the two (2) early voting precincts. Therefore, Hawkins County has been allocated two hundred eighty thousand dollars ($280,000) to purchase new voting machines. There is no matching funds required from the county; and WHEREAS, Hawkins county will be required by the State Division of Election to returned back to the state HAVAfund any proceeds received from the sale of the existing equipment. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT approval be given to accept the HAVA grant in the amount of $280,000 for the purpose of purchasing new voting machines; and FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT authorization be given for Melville Bailey, County Mayor to execute all documents pertaining to the grant.
