Resumption of the session The sitting opened at Statements by the President EUROPEAN PARLIAMT SESSION Sitting of 11 November 2015 BRUSSELS MINUTES WEDNESDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2015 IN THE CHAIR: Mairead McGUINNESS Vice-President The President made a statement on the fire in a discotheque in Bucharest during the night of 30 to 31 October 2015, with the loss of many lives, and offered Parliament's condolences to the families of the victims. The President made a statement on the Russian aircraft which crashed in Sinai on 31 October 2015, with the loss of 224 lives, and offered Parliament's condolences to the families of the victims and to the Russian people. The following spoke: Victor Negrescu. 3. Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting The following spoke: Udo Bullmann, to ask for tribute to be paid during the following part-session to the former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, who had passed away the previous day. The minutes of the previous sitting were approved. The following spoke: Guy Verhofstadt, on the invitation which Parliament had extended to the British Prime Minister David Cameron to visit Parliament (the President took note). The following spoke: Marcel de Graaff, to express his regret that the sitting was taking place on the anniversary of the end of the First World War and to ask for tribute to be paid to the victims of the conflict (the President took note). Composition of Parliament Pablo Iglesias and Fernando Maura Barandiarán had given written notice of their resignation as Members with effect from 28 October 2015 and 25 November 2015 respectively. In accordance with Rule 4(1) and (3), Parliament had noted that their seats would be vacant with effect from 28 October 2015 and 25 November 2015 respectively and had informed the national authority concerned. 5.
