Bad Medicine 9/5/06 Announcer: Millionaire doctor Steve Kagen says he's running for Congress to pass No Patient Left Behind. What Doctor Millionaire doesn't want you to know is his clinic left more than 80 patients behind, suing them. That's right, suing 80 patients, leaving many in financial pain. Is this the work of a compassionate doctor? This is one doctor Wisconsin families can prevent from making house calls. Don't send Doctor Kagen to the House of Representatives. The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising. Hypocrite AZ08 9/13/06 Announcer 1: Gabrielle Giffords. Says one thing, does another. She claims to be for tax cuts. The record says different. Announcer 2: No. Announcer 1: As a state Representative she repeatedly voted against tax cuts. Announcer 2: No. Announcer 1: In the state Senate she kept on voting against tax cuts time and again, including a proposal to increase tax credits for married couples. Announcer 2: No. Announcer 1: Gabrielle Giffords- a hypocrite on taxes. The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising. Doctor Millionaire 9/13/06 Announcer: Dr. Steve Kagen's television ad says he took legal action against eighty former patients. But here's what he won't tell us. He sued one couple for over two thousand dollars even though their family had over six children, including a three-year-old who they lost to an illness. The mother asked Dr. Kagen to submit his bills directly (Text on screen: 'It was the hardest and bleakest time of my life'- Mother sued by Kagen.) Announcer: to the insurance company. He sued her. Dr. Millionaire Steve Kagen, one doctor we can prevent from making house (Text on screen: Don't send Dr. Kagen to the House of Representatives.) Announcer: calls. The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for this advertising.
Who Is He Kidding NC11 9/15/06 Announcer: Heath Shuler wants to represent us in Congress? Records show that before he filed to run he didn't even bother to vote in at least six Congressional elections. Shuler just moved back here in 2003, the reports prove that most of his individual contributions come from people who don't even live in North Carolina. Maybe that's why he said that his whole heart remains in Tennessee. Heath Shuler for Congress? Who is he kidding? The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising. Greedy Trial Lawyer IA01 9/20/06 Announcer: Bruce Braley has not voted in numerous elections, he may have been too busy...as a trial lawyer. Braley said "every trial lawyer I know is opposed to frivolous lawsuits," but Braley sued for a professor who suffered dizziness walking near regularly applied fertilizer. Braley supported the suit for a woman spilling hot coffee on her lap, and Braley has even helped teach a seminar on how to sue doctors. Bruce Braley: greedy trial lawyer. The National Republican message. Hypocrite NC11 9/23/06 Announcer: Hypocrite. Says one thing, does another. Heath Shuler attacks the big oil and pharmaceutical companies but financial reports show stock in at least thirteen pharmaceutical companies and at least eight oil companies. Says he'll bring integrity to Congress? But over a dozen times Heath Shuler or businesses he owned or operated failed to pay property taxes on time. That's not good enough. That National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this advertising. Expect More NY24 9/25/06 Announcer: District Attorney Michael Arcuri took thousands of campaign dollars from a felon convicted of mail fraud and conspiracy. Arcuri returned the money only after it was exposed by the media. His campaign called the incident a 'distraction' and a moot point. But a District Attorney should know better. Taking money from a felon shows poor judgment and puts political office ahead of doing what is right. Michael Arcuri, we expect more. The National Republican message.
Did Not Investigate NM01 9/26/06 Announcer: State Treasurer Michael Montoya and Robert Vigil were arrested in an alleged kickback scheme Long before Attorney General Madrid was asked to investigate Vigil's office. She did not. A securities investigator gave Madrid new information. Again, she did not investigate. Madrid proposed giving Vigil a sweetheart deal and his $85,000 salary. Patricia Madrid has been weak on prosecuting corruption. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message. Legal Records 9/26/06 Announcer: First, millionaire Dr. Steve Kagen sued his patients, some of whom were strapped, over eighty times to collect fees. Now he acts like it was no big deal, saying he never even hired an attorney. Not true, and Steve Kagen knows it. Extensive legal records show Kagen sued his patients and used attorneys to help. Why not just tell the truth Dr. Millionaire? Steve Kagen, one doctor we can prevent from making house calls. The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for this advertisement. Inappropriate FL22 10/03/06 Announcer: Palm Beach County Commissioners approached Ron Klein the State Senator, for fifty-one million dollars for projects. One week later Ron Klein the lobbyist asked the same Commissioners for a multi-million dollar contract for his client. And they got the contract. A non-partisan group that tracks money in politics said: 'lobbyist legislators have leverage over the municipal governments that may be inappropriate.' Ron Klein: inappropriate. The National Republican message. Serious Questions NM01 10/03/06 Announcer: Attorney General Patricia Madrid claims to be tough on corruption. But in a recent editorial, the Journal said there are 'serious legitimate questions about Madrid and the Vigil- Montoya corruption scandal.' Madrid claims she wasn't notified of the problems. But a department secretary, a state representative, and a Democrat state auditor say Madrid was notified and she should have looked into it. Her defense? 'People are lying.' The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message.
Rapists NY24 10/03/06 Announcer: Michael Arcuri on protecting New York women. A man charged with raping a 13 year old girl was let out of jail after Michael Arcuri's office didn't indict him in time. Arcuri said 'these things happen' and if this person were a murdered, we probably would have made special efforts. This man was charged with rape. Mister Arcuri, rapists should not be set free. The National Republican message. Not Generous 10/03/06 Announcer: You know Steve Kagen, the millionaire doctor who sued his patients more than 80 times, even though some of them were financially strapped. But while it seems he likes lining his own pockets, he doesn't feel quite as generous when it comes to senior citizens. In fact, Dr. Millionaire could cut Social Security benefits for some seniors. He also proposes scrapping the prescription drug plan, even though thousands of seniors signed up. Steve Kagen: One rich doctor we need to prevent from making house calls. The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising. Broke Her Word MN06 10/06/06 Announcer: Patty Wetterling said she's too liberal to win a race for Congress and promised Democrats she wouldn't run again. But after a failed run for the Senate, Wetterling broke her word. She says things have changed. The Democrat she misled says what's changed is the most is Patty Wetterling. Wetterling has long been a high tax liberal. Now she's a high tax liberal politician we can't trust. The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising. You Judge NM01 10/11/06 Announcer: Patricia Madrid once said voters should pay closer attention to the records of district judges. Her record. One year Madrid was the most frequently disqualified judge in civil cases and was criticized by attorneys for not being wellversed on the law. And a poll of district court attorneys gave Madrid the lowest marks of any judge in integrity, impartiality, knowledge of the law, and rules of evidence. Patricia Madrid. You judge. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message.
Finances CO04 10/13/06 Announcer: Heath Shuler should be ashamed of himself. He's been caught again not paying his taxes on time. The Associated Press reported that a Heath Shuler business belatedly paid $69,000 dollars in unpaid taxes. Shuler businesses have been chronically delinquent in paying their local taxes. A tax official said 'these people can pay; they just choose not to pay.' Shame on you Heath Shuler. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this advertising. Tax Shame NC11 10/13/06 Announcer: Heath Shuler should be ashamed of himself. He's been caught again not paying his taxes on time. The Associated Press reported that a Heath Shuler business belatedly paid $69,000 dollars in unpaid taxes. Shuler businesses have been chronically delinquent in paying their local taxes. A tax official said 'these people can pay, they just choose not to pay.' Shame on you Heath Shuler. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this advertising. Conviction Rate NY24 10/13/06 Announcer: A man charged with rape was let out of jail after Michael Arcuri's office failed to indict him in time. Oneida County's percentage of felony convictions has fallen dramatically since Not from lack of resources, Arcrui's budget requests increased 183% and departmental salaries jumped 86%. He said conviction rates may not be the best barometer for performance. We think it is. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message. Unemployment OH18 10/13/06 Announcer: Why is Zack Space running a negative campaign? Maybe he wants to hide his record. Space says unemployment is not a problem is Southeastern Ohio. Maybe not for him. As the law director of the City of Dover and a personal injury lawyer, Space took the largest single pay increase of any elected official, more than 77%. Of course he doesn't think unemployment is a problem. More tax dollars in his pocket, less for us. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message.
Dr. Millionaire (Revised) 10/16/06 Announcer: Dr. Millionaire is at it again. Sued over 80 of his patients. Lied about hiring lawyers. And now, get this. Our good doctor wants to go after our seniors. Steve Kagen pledges to scrap the prescription drug plan, even though thousands of Wisconsin seniors have signed up for it. Worse yet, Dr. Millionaire may cut Social Security benefits hurting seniors even more. Steve Kagen. Who's he helping anyway? Erpenbeck KY04 10/17/06 Announcer: Ken Lucas was caught. Caught hand writing a personal letter asking for leniency for a crooked banker in the Erpenbeck Scandal. The impact of the scandal was more than $172 million dollars. Hundreds of homebuyers ripped off, jobs lost. Did Ken Lucas help the victims? Nope. He wrote the judge to go easy on his crooked banker friend. Real people got hurt. And Ken Lucas just walked away. Clean Up NY20 10/17/06 Announcer: What did Kirsten Gillibrand mean when she promised to clean up Congress? She took over $300,000 dollars from lawyers and lobbyists. Her father works as a lobbyist, and she took 10,000 from the Trial Lawyer lobby. Gillibrand even took 4200 from a lawyer who defended Enron's CFO who devised the schemes that cost the jobs and retirement savings of thousands. Kirsten Gillibrand. Clean up or clean up? Speeding Ticket IN08 Announcer: It sounds like a Washington story. The daughter of an elected official ticketed for excessive speeding, the official tries to get the ticket dismissed, according to the local prosecutor because of 'his position'. And then objected that the issue was even raised. Funny thing, it's not a Congressman, it's Sheriff Brad Ellsworth who wants to go to Washington and be a Congressman. (Text on Screen: Fixing Tickets) Announcer: Come on, shouldn't he know better? And haven't we had enough of this kind of thing. (Text on Screen: Enough of this.) Announcer: The National Republican Congressional Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising.
Just Wrong NC11 Announcer: Heath Shuler, just doesn't pay his taxes on time. In Tennessee, where Shuler said his whole heart remains, his business belatedly paid over $69,000 dollars. Shuler businesses had been chronically delinquent in pay. A tax official said it best, 'some people just don't have the money to pay. These people can pay, they just choose not to pay.' That's just wrong. The National Republican advertising. Smoke Screen NM01 Announcer: Patricia Madrid his hiding behind a smokescreen of attack ads. Madrid, the most frequently disqualified judge in civil cases, the lowest marks of any judge in integrity, knowledge of the law, failing to investigate government corruption. And Madrid criticized the recent tax cuts that would let New Mexico families and seniors keep more of their hard earned dollars/ Patricia Madrid, no record, no plan. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message. Bad Call NY24 Woman: "Hi sexy, you've reached the live one on one fantasy line." Announcer: The phone number to an adult fantasy hot line appeared on Michael Arcuri's New York City hotel room bill while he was there on official business. And the call was charged to Oneida County taxpayers. Arcuri has denied it, but the facts are there. Who calls a fantasy hotline and then bills taxpayers? Michael Arcuri. Woman: "Bad Call" Bizarre OH01 Announcer: Ohio deserves ethical leaders with good judgment. But John Cranley's judgment ranges from bad to bizarre. On at least 4 occasions, Councilman Cranley took thousand dollar contributions from people within weeks of voting for business they had before the city council. And Cranley voted to allow children as young as 7 to be tased. 7 year olds, tased! With 50,000 volts of electricity. John Cranley's judgment? Bad to bizarre.
Do Well OH18 Announcer: No matter how rough things get for the rest of us, lawyers tend to do well. Take Zach Space, he's a personal injury lawyer. But that didn't stop him from taking the biggest single pay increase among elected officials in the City of Dover, more than 77%. While the unemployment rate in Ohio is higher than the national rate, Zach Space publicly defended one person's pay raise, his own. The National Republican Congressional Committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this message. The Thinker Announcer: Dr. Kagen thinks he knows it all when it comes to seniors. He's pledged to fix the prescription drug plan - by scrapping it. Putting thousands at potential risk. There's more. Dr. Millionaire Know-It-All isn't even a participating physician in the Medicare program, which lets him charge more. This is the same doctor who sued patients, lied about hiring lawyers. Millionaire Steve Kagen is one doctor who doesn't treat seniors fairly. The National Republican advertising.
