Jones (2'-5 a X. Ros">dale, Tulsa) was chairman of the Committee to investigate federal records and compile a roster of living ex-deputy United States Marshals who hau served in the Indian Territory before statehood. According to kr. Joies there were only two copies of this roster made, one is in his possession and a copy that <*as given to Congressman ci'esley ~2» Disney.. The object of the meeting of the association in 1950, was to discuss raeans of "jetting some pressure back of the following pension bill first introduced in ^fse^ouse of Representatives, June 10, 1921, by Alice Robertson: H. R A BILL. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That to all regularly commissioned United States deputy marshals, now living, who served under the United States District Court for the Western District

F, INTERVIEW of Arkansas, including the Indian Territory, now the State of Oklahoma, prior to the admission of the State of Oklahoma into the Union, and to the widows of the said United States deputy marshals who were killed in the line of duty, who were their wives ei^the time of their service, and to their children under the sixteen years of age, shall be paid a pension in the sum of $30.00 per month. It was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary and ordered to be printed. The hearing before the Committee on the Judi ^iary took place April 11, Very interesting pleas were made by Alice Robertson, Oklahoma, and Otis Wingo, Arkansas, personal statements made by John il. Taylor, oldest living commissioned officer-(out of Fort Smith) commissioned '1882. Mr. Tillman again introduced the bill, H. R. 3974, in the House of Representatives, December 7, The only change from former reading wssvhe proposed amount of pension raised from $30.00 to per month. It was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary and ordered to be printed. v Mr. O'Connor introduced the. pension bill, H. R. 2968, May 15, 1929, a copy of, H. R It met the same s fate.
