SFAC Final Budget Presentation Submitted by Crystal Inacay, SFAC Representative Mission: Represent constituencies across UCSD just to reiterate we make suggestions and don t have control of our money. We oversee 1 million dollars. Have power to make suggestions. 25 budget requests ranked on metrics of value 7 ranked high prioriety; Power of Speaker series ranked one of the highest then Oasis Summer Bridge followed by Arts and Humanities Health careers and advisors- don t help with recommendations but aid with the process to getting into med school Gradvantge program help with developing soft skill for industry Medium priority: have proposals such as student success coaching team experience Low priority: Ashoka You and Triton Food Pantry Sara: lot of disagreement of ordering of priorities list, can we take the suggestions back and change it o Tomorrow is last meeting so will bring results to it Cody: A million dollars we have for? o Power to make recommendations on o Sara: didn t think student fees going to grad. Our fees should be going towards student health nurse or triton food pantry Greek life should fund themselves and not seek outside sources Tammy: Gradvantage program, not accessible to undergrads. Sara: success coaching? o Almost all councils at UCSD have social coach. For first gen. college students Art power had highest reading Cody: What was the consensus during the meeting to put grad so high o Not a lot of programs on campus to cater to this population. Two student graduate presenters Jesse: Evaluations o Looked at financial statement of each budget requests, ask specific department to present to us in addition to art power o Gradvantage and Greek life power advisor VII. De-stress with dodge ball with Muir, teams of 6

Standing rules on Facebook Kimya Marefat, Vice President Finance a. Muir Musical - Annual student run musical, this years production is spring awakening. Muir Musical, AS Backfunding - Earl Puzon $1000 (6,0,1) formal a. Muir musical: requested $1408 but not a 6 th org, tight in budget i. Sara: why passed if have to suspend bylaws ii. Alex: breaking bylaws/ can suspend the bylaws 1. Has happened in past years that its okay to do it, can make suggestions iii. Cody: cant do 1500, so decreased price. Also, Muir Musical is recognized with all the colleges just like how Winter Gamefest is recognized campus wide. iv. Alex H: Funding for the musical has been done in the past and so it s more like continuing what has already been done, I would be more opposed if it were a new program. v. Dennis: This will show support for other colleges and may help build a relationship in the future (since sixth is moving) because about 30% of casting crew are Sixers and a good population for the audience are as well vi. Sara: But sixth college funds their own Winter Gamefest, so Muir should support their own as well. It wouldn t make sense to suspend the bylaws for that reason. b. Kimya: will look over the bylaws and if anyone has further questions/ concerns contact me c. Decision: budget has been tabled for next time b. Adelante - Annual chicanx event with food and live performances. RA Event - David Rodriguez $600 (5,0,1) formal c. Digital Film Festival Annual film competition with food and prizes for winning projects. - VPC - Ozzie Mangayat - $3271 (4,0,1) formal Fiona Tran, Vice President Programming a. David Kozirovskiy, Vice President External a.
