Tour in comfort and style in our new 14 passenger van. In most cases, we can pick you up and drop you off right at your hotel.

We actually drive right up the Washington Monument, and the Capitol and Lincoln as well. Chargers, binoculars, umbrellas, water, plenty of photo stops all the things to make sure your tour with us is memorable! At SeeDCToday, you see DC the way YOU want to! Curb-side drop-off and pick-up so you can get out and take photos at all the major monuments.

When we are touring at the US Capitol, we will be walking the same grounds that in the spring of 1791, Major Pierre-Charles L Enfant, a Paris-born engineer chose as a forested mound called Jenkin s Hill, for the home of the future Federal House for the Congress. He wrote to his friend, George Washington. I have found a pedestal that is waiting for a monument to democracy. Come see the house John Adams moved into on November 1st By the time he arrived the government had already spent $232 thousand dollars on the home, the equivalent of $72 million today. On his second evening in its damp, unfinished rooms, he wrote his wife, Before I end my letter, I pray Heaven to bestow the best of Blessings on this House and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise Men ever rule under this roof.

The Inaugural Parade, generally held on the afternoon of the swearing-in ceremony, is a popular part of the inaugural festivities. After the president and vicepresident have been sworn in (and after the inaugural luncheon), they typically travel down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, where they remain while they review the rest of the parade as it passes by. Located next to the Capitol, also on the inaugural route is the Canadian Embasy. The Embassy of Canada is Canada s main diplomatic mission to the United States. The embassy building is at 501 Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest, between the Capitol and the White House, just north of the National Gallery of Art.

The Newseum, headquartered in Washington, D.C., promotes, explains and defends free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment: religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Considered one of the most interactive museums in the world, the Newseum experience also traces the evolution of electronic communication from the birth of radio, to the technologies of the present and the future. The National Gallery of Art, and its attached Sculpture Garden, is a national art museum in Washington, D.C., located on the National Mall, between 3rd and 9th Streets, at Constitution Avenue NW. Open to the public and free of charge, the museum was privately established in 1937 for the American people by a joint resolution of the United States Congress. Andrew W. Mellon donated a substantial art collection and funds for construction.

The J. Edgar Hoover Building is the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Work on the superstructure began in May These delays meant that the cost of the project grew to $ million from $60 million. Construction finished in September 1975, and President Gerald Ford dedicated the structure on September 30, The Smithsonian Castle houses the administrative offices of the Smithsonian. The main Smithsonian visitor center is also located here, with interactive displays and maps. Computers electronically answer most common questions. A crypt just inside the north entrance houses the tomb of James Smithson.

The National Museum of Natural History is part of the Smithsonian Institution, the world s preeminent museum and research complex. The Museum is dedicated to inspiring curiosity, discovery, and learning about the natural world through its unparalleled research, collections, exhibitions, and education outreach programs. Opened in 1910, the green-domed museum on the National Mall was among the first Smithsonian building constructed exclusively to house the national collections and research facilities. The White House Visitor Center, located at 1450 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, offers visitors a window into the president s iconic home. The visitor center is open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily (except January 1, Thanksgiving, and December 25). Admission is free. The exhibit areas feature approximately 100 historical artifacts, interpretive panels, looping videos of photos and archival footage, and interactive elements for visitors of all ages.

The Old Executive Office Building, now renamed the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, is a National Historic Landmark, that was built between 1871 and Designed by Alfred B. Mullet in the Second Empire Style, the building first housed the Departments of State, War, and Navy. Much of the interior was designed by Richard Von Ezdorf using fireproof cast-iron structural and decorative elements. The Library of Congress is the research library that officially serves the United States Congress and is the de facto national library of the United States. It is the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States. The Library is housed in three buildings on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. it also maintains the Packard Campus in Culpeper, Virginia, which houses the National Audio- Visual Conservation Center.

These reviews are 100% real submitted by actual customers. Washington DC My wife and I were in DC for 2 days. This is the only way to go. Saw more than we would have ever seen in many days on our own. Tammy knew all of the in s and outs to make your day more productive. Really nice to have small group and when you see a particular site your van is right there to whisk you off to the next. Could not have been better. Stephen G Visited March 2017 Personalized Tour We had an excellent tour of DC with Dean and Tammy. They picked us up right at our hotel and asked if there we had any special places we d like to see. They were both extremely knowledgeable and couldn t have been more accommodating. Tammy took our very small group inside all of the places we d hope to see and showed us everything we asked for and more. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! Joe T Visited March 2017 A Great Way To See DC! We had a wonderful time with Dean of See DC Today! Booking the tour online was easy to do and it was well worth the cost. The weather over the weekend had been cold and windy so we were glad to be in a warm vehicle. Dean is very knowledgeable and easygoing. He loves this city and it shows. He made every effort to make sure we saw as many of the sites as possible and knew a lot about each of them. He arrived on time and was very courteous and friendly throughout the tour. The van was clean and comfortable. We were given ipads so that as he drove, we could see pictures and learn more about the sites that we were seeing. Even though we were in a van, there was a microphone that was used to make sure everyone could hear what was being said. Dean was very flexible. If there was somewhere that we wanted to go, he was willing to take us. The tour could be personalized in such a way because we were a small group. We loved that we could tour at our own pace and never felt rushed to get to the next destination. We were able to stop for a quick lunch along the way, and Dean had water bottles for us if we got thirsty at any other time. The 5 hour time frame was just perfect and at the end of the tour we felt satisfied with all we d seen and with the overall experience. I would recommend See DC Today to anyone wanting a great tour of this wonderful city! dela2302, Long Island, NY Visited March 2017 See DC Today P.O. Box Alexandria, VA dean@seedctoday.com

These reviews are 100% real submitted by actual customers. Best tour ever! Dean, the driver and Chris our guide gave us an amazing tour to see all of the DC sights at night. It was great to have such attention for just the two of us. They personalized it so we saw what we wanted. It was so nice to just be dropped off at the sights and have Chris give us the history and background info while Dean waited to pick us up at the next appointed attraction. They were polite, informative and friendly. I ve paid more for far less $. This is truly the way to see DC and the surrounding area! 699marilynj, Yakima Visited September 2016 If you want a great tour without the expensive price tag then go with Dean at See DC Today My son and I had a blast with Dean and Tammy. The price was right and we didn t have to crammed into a bus with hundreds of others. You get to pick the places you want to go. We pretty much just winged it and told Dean and Tammy to take us anywhere. We saw so much in the two days we were there. During our day tour they took us to different sights and Tammy would come in with us and give us the tour. She was a joy to be around. The night tour is a Must see if you can. Dean took us all over DC and we were able to see things in a different light. When we come back we will book with Dean and See DC Today! lbelter, Santa Clarita, California Visited August 2016 Perfect for multi-generational groups! Our small group of four spanned the ages from We gave Dean a list of what we wanted to see on our tour and we completed the list plus much, much more. He gave us lots of extra information and facts our history buff kiddos loved. Having him drive us around we were able to truly enjoy our day exploring the sites without exhausting ourselves. This was especially beneficial for the youngest and oldest in our group. We will use him again on our next trip to DC and recommend to friends! Amber R, Clemson Visited July 2016 Best tour ever! Dean gave us a tour for four that was the most informative and thorough tour we have ever taken in DC. We accomplished so much in four hours and he fulfilled every wish we had, plus some. He is a native and knows his business. I highly recommend this tour company. Price is great too. sharon02tn, Nashville, Tennessee Visited August 2016 See DC Today P.O. 12 This is an easy one to visit on our tours, we can pull right up and hop off curbside at the Memorial. Dedicated on Memorial Day 2004, the World War II Memorial is dedicated to Americans who served in the armed forces and as civilians during World War II. Before going into the Memorial, we will stop to take pictures while looking South at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, once inside the Memorial, we will look east and see the Washington Monument and US Capitol, then west and see the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial. Located in the heart of the Nation s Capital, the BEP s Washington, DC Tour and Visitor Center is a great place to learn all about U.S. paper currency. You can see millions of dollars being printed as you walk along the gallery overlooking the production floor! The free 40-minute experience includes an introductory film and gallery tour of the production process. The visitor center includes exhibits and currency products for sale. Admission is free. Tickets are required for the Currency Production Tour through September 1.

The southern end of the National Mall depicts a memorial that should be in Rome. Thomas Jefferson who brought neo classical architecture to America by building his own house Monticello and his temple in DC shows why he is the political mind of the founding of America. From the Jefferson Memorial, we will see his statue and look across the Tidal Basin where we will see the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the White House and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Dedicated in 2011, and located at 1964 Independence Avenue, this is the easiest memorial of them all to visit, just a short walk from the van to the statue of MLK. Also, another tour stop that we will be overlooking the Tidal Basin, this time, looking back across at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, from here you can also get some great pictures of MLK with the Washington Monument in the background. Before we leave the Memorial, we will stop and show you where the time capsule is located that has a copy of the I have a dream speech buried and see the date the ceremony is scheduled to it removed and read aloud.

The original memorial in the DC area is a bench near the Arlington Cemetery Amphitheater dedicated to the Forgotten War. Most of America thinks of 11 seasons of television (M.A.S.H), but this was no comedy. The early years of the Cold War, it was a brutal struggle of strategy along the 38th parallel. Jan Craig Scruggs (born 1950) is a United States Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, and later founded the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, which built the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Scruggs was the President of the foundation until 2015, when he retired. The Wall is made of black granite from India and from a distance, is designed to look like a laceration in the ground. On the Wall are names etched on a reflective canvas that lists in chronological order service men and woman from 1959 until 1975.

At this stop, we will not only see the 19 foot tall hand carved Georgia Marble Statue of President Lincoln, we will also see the Gettysburg Address and Lincolns second Inaugural address carved Into the Memorials walls, we will stand where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his I Have A Dream speech In 1963, then we will walk to the back of the memorial and show you Arlington National Cemetery. This Is the largest memorial dedicated to one person in the world. The Abraham Lincoln Memorial opened to the public in 1922 is known as the temple of freedom. The National Museum of American History collects and preserves more than 3 million artifacts all true national treasures. We take care of everything from the original Star-Spangled Banner and Abraham Lincoln s top hat to the gowns of the First Ladies. Archie Bunker s chair, Ali s boxing gloves - our collections form a fascinating mosaic of American life and comprise the greatest single collection of American history.

The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., built to commemorate George Washington, once commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the first President of the United States. Construction of the monument began in 1848, and was halted from 1854 to Although the stone structure was completed in 1884, finishing touches were not completed until The term National Mall commonly includes areas that are officially part of West Potomac Park and Constitution Gardens to the west, and often is taken to refer to the entire area between the Lincoln Memorial and the United States Capitol, with the Washington Monument dividing the area slightly west of its midpoint. The Mall contains a number of museums and memorials and receives approximately 24 million visitors each year.

The Treasury Building in Washington, D.C., is a National Historic Landmark building which is the headquarters of the United States Department of the Treasury. An image of the Treasury Building is featured on the back of the United States ten-dollar bill. The Rayburn House Office Building is a congressional office building for the U.S. House of Representatives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C., between South Capitol Street and First Street. Rayburn is named after former Speaker of the House Sam Rayburn. It was completed in 1965 and at million square feet (220,644 m²) is the largest congressional office building and the newest House office building (the only newer congressional office building is the Hart Senate Office Building, completed in 1982).

Would you believe that the amphibious military branch that is known for being first in and last out were founded before America declared independence from England? This largest bronze statue in the world was dedicated in 1954 between Arlington Cemetery and the city of Rosslyn, VA by President Dwight David Eisenhower. Tour with us to see this magnificent memorial the was inspired by the photograph taken by Joe Rosenthal in Walk with us through the Pentagon 911 Memorial, located on the side of the building that was struck on that day. This Memorial is for the 184 people who died as victims in the building and on American Airlines Flight 77 during the September 11 attacks.

Dedicated on May 2, 1997 by President Bill Clinton, the monument, spread over 7.5 acres, traces 12 years of the history of the United States through a sequence of four outdoor rooms, one for each of FDR s terms of office. Sculptures inspired by photographs depict the 32nd president alongside his dog Fala. A bronze statue of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt standing before the United Nations emblem honors her dedication to the UN. It is the only presidential memorial to depict a First Lady. At the dedication ceremony, physicist John Archibald Wheeler described the statue as a monument to the man who united space and time into space-time...a remembrance of the man who taught us...that the universe does not go on from everlasting to everlasting, but begins with a bang. The statue depicts Einstein seated in casual repose on a three-step bench of Mount Airy (North Carolina) white granite. The bronze figure weighs approximately 4 tons and is 12 feet in height. The monument is supported by three caissons, totaling 135 tons.
