1 In the matter of appointing members to committees of the California Citrus Research Program as recommended by the California Citrus Research Board Chair to the Department of Food and Agriculture BEFORE THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE Order of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Appointing Members to the Committees of the California Citrus Research Program for a Term beginning Immediately and Continuing until September 30, 2017 WHEREAS, the California Department of Food and Agriculture (Department acting pursuant to and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the provisions of the California Marketing Act (Act, being Chapter 1 of Part 2, Division 21 of the California Food and Agricultural Code, issued the Citrus Improvement Program (Program, which became effective October 24, 1968, and incorporates amendments through June 1, 2017, and is now also known as the California Citrus Research Program; and WHEREAS, Section J of Article II of said Program provides for the establishment of committees to assist the California Citrus Research Board (Board, the administrative agency that assists the Department in the administration of the Program, in executing its duties; and WHEREAS, the Policy Manual for the Program (8 th Edition, approved by the Department on March 25, 2015, authorizes the Board Chairperson to make recommendations to the Department for appointments to committees; and WHEREAS, the Board Chairperson has recommended to the Department the approval of committee members to the following committees: Production Efficiency Committee, California New Varieties Development Management Committee, Vectored Diseases Committee, Non-Vectored Diseases and Postharvest Committee, Pest Management Committee, Quality Assurance Program Committee, Citrus Clonal Protection Program (CCPP Committee, CCPP Moving Forward Committee, Research Development and Implementation Committee, Communications Committee, Joint Agency Biological Control Task Force, Lab Technical Advisory Committee, Laboratory Path Forward Committee, Early Detection Technology Task Force, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Research Priority Screening Committee, Management Review and Assessment Committee and the Nominating Committee as listed on Exhibit A attached to this Order; NOW, THEREFORE, the Department, acting pursuant to and by virtue of the authority vested in it by said Act and said Program, does hereby appoint members to committees of the California Citrus Research Program as listed on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof, for a term of office beginning immediately and ending September 30, 2017, or until their successors are appointed and have qualified DATE: June 23, 2017 ROBERT MAXIE, Chief Marketing Branch Department of Food and Agriculture Citrus Research Board Committee Appointment Order
