1 ROOSEVELT BOARD OF EDUCATION SCHOOL LANE ROOSEVELT, NJ Board of Education Meeting Wednesday, May 5, :30pm Roosevelt Public School REORGANIZATION MEETING MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Roosevelt Public School district is to educate and inspire all students to excel academically,*to become independent and creative thinkers, skillful communicators and lifelong learners. Roosevelt Public School nurtures and challenges the unique potential of each student, so that our children will develop individual, social and civic responsibility as well as respect for themselves, each other, and the environment. * to achieve or exceed the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels. I. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. II. CALL TO ORDER: The New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law of 1975 was enacted to ensure the rights of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of the public bodies at which any business affecting their interest is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of the Act, the Roosevelt Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting to be published by having the date, time and place thereof posted in the Roosevelt Post Office, Roosevelt Public School, and the Examiner. The monthly meeting of the Roosevelt Board of Education will be called to order at 7:30pm on May 5, III. ORGANIZATION OF MEETING: A. Results of the Election SBA/BS to review The budget passed with 118 yes votes and 50 no votes. Board members Mr. Goetzmann received 124 votes, Mrs. Yang received 112 votes and Ms. Kosa received 113 votes (R-1). Oath of Office - Mr. Goetzmann, Mrs. Yang, and Ms. Kosa.

2 B. Nomination of President and Vice President 1. Nominations for the Office of Board President. Moved by and seconded by that be nominated as President. Hearing no other nominations for Board President let the ballot be cast for as President by roll call vote. Roll Call: Congratulations to. The Board President will assume the chair to the right of the CSA. Adoption of Policies: Approve the adoption and continuation of all standing resolutions as well as current rules, regulations, bylaws, policies and procedures, for the Roosevelt Board of Education, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey. 2. Meeting Schedule: Approve the attached meeting schedule for Board meetings to be held in the Roosevelt Public School at 7:30pm through the month of April/2011 action may be taken at all meetings as amended. (see attached list R-2) 3. Certification of School Tax Levy: Motion to certify to the Borough of Roosevelt Financial Officer the following tax levy and schedule of payments: July /10 =$115, January/11 = $115, August /10 =$144, Feb./11 = $144, w/debt September/10 =$115, March/11 = $115, October /10 =$115, April/11 = $115, November /10 =$115, May/11 = $115, December /10 =$115, June/11 = $115, D. The SBA/BS is hereby authorized and directed to mail meeting notices to the official newspaper, to file one with the Borough Clerk, to post with the PTA, to put a copy in the Roosevelt Post Office. 6. Approve the nonresident tuition rate for the 10/11 school year for grades K-6 at an annual rate of $4, Tuition fees to be paid in 10 monthly installments payable prior to the first day of each month. Does not include special ed./speech services (10% discount on the lower amount for additional children from the same family).

Approve the nonresident tuition rate for the 10/11 school year for the Pre-Kindergarten program at an annual rate of $3, Tuition fees to be paid in 10 monthly installments payable, prior to the first day of each month. Murray Agency to be the designated insurance agent of record, commencing July 1, 2010 through June 30, Approve the appointment of George Lang, CFO, 12 Hope Valley Drive, Cranbury, NJ as Treasurer of School Monies for the fiscal year and to contract his professional services at an annual fee of $2, Approve the appointment of Mark Resnick as: purchasing agent, District Public Agency Compliance Officer, Right to Know Officer, Integrated Pest Management Coordinator, Custodian of Public Records for the fiscal year, at no additional salary. 10. Approve the appointment of Shari Payson as the District Safety Officer, at no additional salary. 11. Approve the Multi-Year Plans LRFP, Maintenance Plan, Technology Plan, Comprehensive Equity Plan, New Teacher Induction/Mentor Plan. 16.Approve the Integrated Pest Management Services through Cooper Pest Control at a monthly rate of $ Approve the travel and related expense reimbursement with a maximum expenditure of $15, for the 10/11 fiscal year. 18. Approve Summit Management Solutions, LLC for Business Office Services for the school year at an annual fee of $61, Approve the Organizational Chart as distributed (see attached). 20. Approve Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company as our Teacher Savings Plan company. 21. Approve the adoption of the Code of Ethics policy # 9271 undersigned by the BOE on May 5th, (See attached.) Meetings will commence at 7:30 p.m. and will be conducted in the Roosevelt Public School Library. These meetings will be held for whatever business that may come before the Board of Education and formal action may be taken at any or all of these specified meetings. Notice of any special meeting of the Board of Education other than those designated above shall be forwarded to the Examiner and/or the Asbury Park Press, all being newspapers designated by the Board of Education to receive notice under the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law at least 48 hours prior to such meeting being held.
