Motion: Brunner Second: Acocella Carried: 7 to 0 The meeting was adjourned to executive session for the purpose of discussion regarding employment/termination of specific individual employees; recommendation of the Committee of Special Education; and/or contractual matters at 7:15 PM. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES February 28, 2007 Motion: DiLorenzo Second: Brunner Carried: 7 to 0 COMMENTS AND GOOD NEWS The Board President noted: PT Council Safety Committee Presentation is April 17, 2007 at HHS. Janet DiFiore, DA will be speaker; Board of Education E-News is now available; DARE Graduation rescheduled for May 29, 2007; schools will be closed April 9, 2007 for unused snow day; the four school fund raiser was a success; HHS band is leaving this evening for performance in San Francisco; LMK Father/Son Breakfast was a success; Mother/Daughter Breakfast is forthcoming. Mr. DiLorenzo raised the issue of Honors and AP classes and regents, and requested that the Superintendent expand on the current community concerns regarding same. The Superintendent addressed the issue and discussion with the Board ensued. Mrs. Tiburzi reported on last meeting of Citizens Budget Committee; Mr. Acocella reported on Legislative Committee. 2 Elise Nathanson Patty Langelotti Following Public Participation, the Board President commented on the respect and support that the Board has for the district s teachers. She further noted that the teachers are currently not working without a contract; per the Taylor Law, all terms of the expired contract are still in full effect. SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT Presentation of Budget by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Business. Superintendent noted: Attendance at State recruitment fairs by the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources; Rye School s tennis team will utilize the district s tennis courts while theirs are being repaired. PERSONNEL REPORT (attached) Be it resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves Items IA F of the Personnel Report. Motion: DiLorenzo Second: Brunner Carried: 7 to 0 ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT APPROVAL OF PURCHASE SCHOOL FIELD TRIP TO ELLIS ISLAND, NEW YORK CITY of Schools, approve a field trip for Purchase School students visit Ellis Island, on Tuesday, April 24, Departure from Purchase Elementary School will be 7:30 AM and return time to Purchase School at approximately 4:30 PM. APPROVAL OF PURCHASE SCHOOL FIELD TRIP TO PHILADELPHIA, PA of Schools, approve a field trip for Purchase School students visit Philadelphia, PA, on Tuesday, May 8, Departure from Purchase Elementary School will be 7:00 AM and return time to Purchase School at approximately 7:00 PM.

4 APPROVAL OF IMPARTIAL HEARING OFFICER of Schools, appoints Martin Kehoe, 2009 Western Ave, Albany, NY, as Impartial Hearing Officer for Case Number AUTHORIZATION OF AGREEMENT Resolved, that the President of the Board of Education is herewith authorized to execute a certain agreement dated March 14, 2007 on behalf of the Board of Education between the Board of Education and the New York State United Teachers, and Be it further resolved, that Assistant Superintendent Brian Ladewig is herewith authorized to execute a certain letter agreement dated March 14, 2007 between the District and Employee #1377. 5 TREASURER S REPORT FEBRUARY 2007 of schools approves the Treasurer s Report for February TAX CERTIORARI 4 PLEASANT RIDGE RD, TAX MAP # Whereas, the Harrison Central School District and its 2006 tax levy is affected by the outcome of a certain tax certiorari proceeding commenced by the property owners at property located at 4 Pleasant Ridge Road, Town of Harrison, New York, a/k/a Tax Map #493-15, for assessment year 2006 and, Whereas, the parties to said litigation have attempted to narrow their differences, and Whereas, after a review of the relative merits of the petitioners claims, the parties have agreed to settle the above tax certiorari claims on terms set forth on the annexed proposed Stipulation of Settlement, and, Whereas, the Court has approved of the agreement and issued an Order and Judgment in said matter, directing an adjustment to the assessment of the subject property, Now, therefore, be it Resolved, that the Board of Education hereby approves of and consents to the settlement of the claims of the petitioner (4 Pleasant Ridge Road, Town of Harrison, NY), on the terms as set forth on the annexed Stipulation of Settlement, as in the best interests of the School District and its taxpayers, and, it is, Further resolved, that the District administrators, if needed, are hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary arrangements, pursuant to the Local Finance Law or otherwise, for payment of the aforesaid judgment as it affects the school tax levy. TAX CERTIORARI 100 MANHATTANVILLE RD, TAX MAP # Whereas, the Harrison Central School District is a party respondent in certain tax certiorari proceedings commenced by the property owners of property located at 100 Manhattanville Road, Purchase, Town of Harrison, New York, a/k/a Tax Map #631-17, et al for assessment years 2004 through 2006 and, Whereas, the parties to said litigation have attempted to narrow their differences, and, Whereas, after a review of the relative merits of the petitioners claims, the parties have agreed to settle the above tax certiorari claims on terms set forth on the annexed Consent Judgment, Now, therefore, be it Resolved, that the Board of Education hereby approves of and agrees to settle the claims of the petitioner (BFG Immobilien Investment Gesellschaft MBH), on the terms as set

6 forth on the annexed Consent Order and Judgment, as in the best interests of the School District and its taxpayers, and, it is, Further resolved, that counsel is authorized and directed to execute the appropriate Stipulation of Settlement, if any, and consent to the entry of Order of Judgment implementing the aforesaid settlement, and be it, Further resolved, that the District administrators, if needed, are hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary arrangements, pursuant to the Local Finance Law or otherwise, for payment of the aforesaid judgment. BID AWARD PROJECTOR BULBS, BID #06/07-46 of Schools, awards the contract for projector bulbs, to Projector.com. USE OF FACILITIES of Schools authorizes the Rye City School District to utilize the Harrison High School tennis courts as required, until such time that necessary repairs can be made to their own courts. By agreement with the HCSD Athletic Director, the Rye team will commence practice after the completion of the Harrison team practice, and their usage of the courts will in no way interfere with the Harrison team schedule. of Schools approves the use of facilities as listed. OLD AND NEW BUSINESS Mrs. Tiburzi requested an update on the sound system upgrades at school auditoriums. Mr. Salierno responded.
