Equipment/machines newly developed for sericulture mechanization: 1 No. (During 1 st Qtr.) A SIMPLE INNOVATIVE TOOL FOR COCOON DEFLOSSING CSRTI, Berhampore has attempted an innovation which is in principle re-adoption of old practice followed in Southern India and designed a simple but an effective tool, which perfectly suit the requirement of experimental batches being reared at basic seed farms. This simple tool is made up of iron rods in tweaked L shape. One end is designed to hold the hand for easy operation. With this tool cocoons in each 2' x 3' plastic trays (or wooden tray) can be easily deflossed. Quite simple in operation Only one man day is required to defloss about two hundred batches. Breed wise observation of cocoon floss can be conveniently made. ANNEXURE VIII 1.
