1 p.l Republican State Central Committee, Minnesota. Newspaper Clippings, rolls positive microfilm. Microfilmed in lieu of the originals. Collation of the originals: 87 linear feet. READING ROOM COPY Newspaper clippings from the Research Department files of the Minnesota Republican State Central Committee papers, containing information about the major personalities, topics, issues, and events in Republican and Democratic party politics on both the state and national levels. The clippings are arranged chronologically by year or groups of years. Within each chronological period they are organized by subject according to a classification scheme developed by the Research Department. The numbers accompanying the subject headings refer to the numerical indexing system used by the Department to identify subjects. Two additional aids to the reader are included in this inventory: A Roll List, which lists the year or years of the clippings that appear on each microfilm roll. A Roll Contents List, which lists the clippings by roll, year, and subject in the order in which they appear on the film. The frame number at which each subject begins is also indicated. The deteriorating originals were microfilmed for the purpose of permanent preservation in and were subsequently discarded. 2,647
