1 7 March 2019 Elections to Spanish and Valencian Parliament of 28 April 2019 In the elections to Spanish Parliament 36,893,976 voters may vote and in the elections to Valencian Parliament 3,657,109 voters may vote Voters residing abroad who wish to vote must apply by 30 March The electoral roll will be available for consultation from 11 to 18 March and voters may opt out of receiving electoral propaganda On 28 April ,893,976 voters may vote in the elections to Spanish Parliament. Of these, 34,799,999 of them live in Spain, and 2,093,977 live abroad. Of the voters living in Spain, 1,157,196 will be able to participate in general elections for the first time, due to having turned 18 since the previous election to Spanish Parliament, held on 26 June Total voters in elections to Voters resident in Voters resident Spanish Parliament Spain abroad 36,893,976 34,799,999 2,093,977 For its part, in the elections to the Valencian Parliament 3,657,109 voters are eligible to vote, of which 3,548,454 live in Spain and 108,655 live abroad. There are 164,789 new voters living in Comunitat Valenciana, due to having reached legal voting age after 24 May 2015, the date of the previous Community elections. The ECO is sending the official application form to these voters. Applications can be submitted online. To do so, it is necessary to have an electronic certificate recognised by the National Statistics Institute (INE) Electronic Headquarters or to use the password sent with the official form. From 5 March the form is also available at the consulates and on the web pages of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and the INE. Votes resident abroad will be able to check their registration details at consular offices on these same dates. Voters may present claims on their registration data in the city councils, consulates or in the provincial delegations of the ECO, within the same period, from 11 to 18 March. On the INE Electronic Headquarters ( there is a service for consultation of the registration data in the electoral roll and the polling station and address of the electoral premises, upon accreditation of the identity of the voter with a recognised electronic certificate (electronic ID among others). Requests to opt out of receiving electoral propaganda As a result of the reform of the Electoral law, voters may request their exclusion from the copies of the electoral roll that are provided to the representatives of the candidacies for the sending of electoral propaganda. These exclusions are continuous and have permanent effect unless the voter expresses otherwise. Those who make this request until 18 March will not receive electoral propaganda from the political parties in the election campaign of these elections. Requests received later than 18 March will take effect in the following elections. The request for exclusion can be carried out by internet, with electronic certificate, at the INE Electronic Headquarters ( or at the city councils, consular offices and provincial delegations of the ECO. Census cards From 1 April the ECO will send each voter residing in Spain a census card with the polling station and the electoral premises where they are entitled to vote. The information contained in this card also will be valid for the municipal, Community and European Parliament elections of 26 May 2019, unless there is a change in the data of the voters, in which case they will receive a second census card before 26 May. 5 Information On the INE website ( relevant information is available on the actions of the ECO in these elections, count of voters, claims, polling stations and electoral premises, postal voting, deadlines and legal regulations.
