3 Visa Information Visa on Arrival (eligible Nationalities) The Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, have introduced a visa on arrival facility for 47 nationalities. Citizens of the following countries will have a 30 day visit visa stamped on their passports at the port of entry, eliminating the need to apply for a visa prior to arriving in the UAE. These can be extended for another 30 days by paying AED 620. Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, Vatican City, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia, Malta, Cyprus, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria. GCC Countries Residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council should confirm with the UAE Consulate or Embassy in country of residence before traveling to the UAE. 5 Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Mosque Day 3 The Mosque was initiated by the late President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is fondly thought of as the father of the UAE. The design has been inspired by both the Mughal and the Moorish Mosque Architecture in Pakistan and Morocco. There are four minarets on the four corners of the courtyard. The courtyard, with its floral design, measures about 17,000 m2 considered to be the largest example of marble mosaic in the world. The Carpet in the main prayer hall has been designed by an Iranian artist, measuring 5627 m2, weighing 35 tons using wool from New Zealand and Iran. The Chandeliers that are made in Germany incorporate millions of Swarovski Crystals. Reflective pools surround the mosque, amplifying its beauty. The striking white and gold colors shining in the sun are transformed at night by a unique lightning system which reflects the phases of the moon. Ramadan opening hours: During the Holy Month the mosque is open daily, except Friday, from 9am to 2pm, with last entry at 1.30pm. Opening hours: Unlike other mosques in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is open daily to visitors, except on Friday morning, which is for worshippers only. The opening hours are 9am to 10pm (last entry at 9.30 pm) Saturday to Thursday and 4.30pm to 10pm on Fridays. Complimentary one hour guided tours run (Sun-Thurs) at 10am, 11am and 5pm.
