1 NORWAY On behalf of UniGroup Worldwide, we will be coordinating the shipment of your goods to. To simplify the process, we have outlined the necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition. This will also review your responsibilities in assisting with this process. In addition to the points below, the following pages will outline the requirements, which will be facilitated by our local representative to complete the clearance. They will assist with each item specific to your shipment so please be assured they will do whatever is necessary to facilitate a quick and efficient clearance. The documentation process, for example, passports, visas, power of attorney, etc., can take one week to 14 days plus the transportation airfreight seven to 21 days / weeks and ocean six to eight weeks, depending on the origin. It is extremely important that you take a few moments to review these important requirements, as they will allow us to process the release of your personal property through foreign customs. Customs and immigration requirements are established by the country of import and not by UniGroup Worldwide. This guide has been designed to assist clients understand and comply with country-specific requirements. Substantial effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is current and correct. Such regulations, however, are subject to change without notice by the country of import. UniGroup Worldwide assumes no liability for changes in the law or interpretation by enforcement personnel as it exists at the time you and/or your goods enter the country. Visa Requirements Details Please advise your local representative or UniGroup Worldwide Representative of the Type of passport or visa you will be travelling under (working visa, temporary visa, diplomatic, etc.) When moving to, some specific documents will be required in order to satisfy local immigration officials. *Contact address and teleph1 number must be listed on all documents. Required Documents Visitors Visa Visitor s Visa (type C) Details Citizens of EU/EEA/EFTA/Schengen countries do not require Visa: Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland, The United Kingdom, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Cyprus, Malta, Iceland,, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. Citizens holding passports from the following countries do not require visa for visits of up to three months: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay, Vatican and Venezuela. 2 Transit Visa (type B) Schengen Visa Tourists tourist, on a family visit, on public business or a business trip, a study visit or other business. A visa for and the Schengen area may be granted for up to 90 days. Applicant may not stay in the Schengen area for more than 90 days in the course of the past six months. This means that any stay in the Schengen area in the past six months must be taken into consideration when calculating the duration of a visa. The duration of the visa is stated on the visa sticker. The visa sticker also states the first permitted entry date and last permitted exit date. Applicant subject to the visa requirement intending to travel through one or more of the Schengen countries may be granted a transit visa that is valid for up to five days. This only applies when the person enters from a country that is not a party to the Schengen Agreement and is to exit to another country that is not a party to the agreement. Applicants who apply for transit visas for include foreign nationals subject to the visa requirement intending to travel from Svalbard to a country outside the Schengen area. As with other visa applications, transit visa applications are to be made using the appropriate application form and submitted to the nearest Foreign Service mission. Other applicants who may need a transit visa include seamen who will be signing on or off a vessel in a Norwegian port, or seamen who will be traveling through to a country outside the Schengen area. Requirements for Schengen Visa: Passport valid for no less than three months after the anticipated return from. Two copies of the passport page containing personal information (one copy is delivered to the Embassy while applying, the other one is kept for making the Insurance). A copy of the National Identity Card One copy of filled in visa application form. (If an applicant is travelling with his/her child (children) included into his/her passport, one copy of filled in visa application form, two photos (the rules for children s photos are the same as for adults) and relevant invitation should be submitted for each child). When filling in the form, make sure that the spelling of name is identical to that in passport. Please note that it is very important to provide correct information and fill in the application form properly. Two photos which should meet the relevant requirements. Letter of invitation from a Norwegian citizen or a foreigner who is a permanent resident in (for private visits), or a company registered in (for business trips). Effective: Jan. 1,
3 Tourist Visa Professionals Work Permit Requirements for tourist Visa are: Valid passport with validity of more than six months. One Visa application form duly filled in and signed- Photocopy can be used A recent passport sized color photograph with white back ground (with matt or semi matt finish) (35mm wide by 45mm high) without border and taken within the last three months; taken full face without headgear, unless the applicant habitually wears a headgear in accordance with his / her religious or racial custom but the headgear must not hide the applicant's feature. The facial image must be between 25mm to 35mm from chin to crown. Two copies of the sponsorship letter from the reference attested by the local police in. Confirmed Hotel Reservation. Two copies of Itinerary printout. Two copies of first and last page of the sponsor's passport and applicant's passport. Confirmed return Air Ticket. Proof of sufficient funds. Requirements for Artist/musician are: Application must relate to full-time work. The extent to which the job is a full-time post must be assessed based on what is normal for the professional group in question. For musicians/dance bands, the working hours must be minimum 21 hours per week in order to be considered full-time work. The contract must relate to one specified, continuous period with one or more employers. In some cases there may be gaps in the contractual period, i.e. periods between contracts where applicant does not have work. The work permit may still be granted for the whole period, if such gaps do not constitute more than 20% of the total period of residence. The wages and working conditions must not be worse than the applicable tariff agreement, wage scale or normal standard for the location and profession. For musicians, assessment of this will be linked to the collective agreement on wages and working conditions for musicians, entered into between the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) and the Norwegian Musicians Union on the one hand and the Confederation of Norwegian Business and Industry (NHO) and the Norwegian Hospitality Association (RBL) on the other. For contracts with Rikskonsertene, consideration will be given to the collective agreement for musicians on short term contracts, entered into between the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) and the Norwegian Musicians Union on the Effective: Jan. 1,
4 one hand and the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs and Rikskonsertene on the other. Requirements for Au pairs are: The original version of the employment contract, signed by applicant and the host family. The offer of employment must apply until a stated date Documentation that the working hours will not exceed five hours per day A description of the applicant s tasks should be included Documentation of the host family s nationality (for example a copy of their passports) Original birth certificate must be included Copy of passport Passport photo Visa Businesspeople Business Visa In order to obtain a work permit as an au pair, one must: Be aged between 18 and 30 As a rule, not share the same nationality as anyone in the host family Have a concrete offer of employment in the form of an employment contract signed by applicant and the host family. Visa for skilled worker/specialist: If applicant qualifies as a skilled worker/specialist, applicant may obtain a visa if he/she have an offer of employment in, or wish to seek work here. The requirements for such a visa depend on whether or not applicant has an offer of employment. If applicant has an offer of employment, he/she may obtain a visa if applicant has training equivalent to at least the level of further education. If there is an offer of employment in, the following expertise may be taken into consideration instead of formal training: Course or other training in a company abroad. In order to obtain a visa, the training must provide the same level of expertise as formal vocational training, and the expertise must be relevant to the work applicant will be taking on. Specialist qualifications based on practical experience in a particular field. In order to obtain a visa, the practical experience must be at least as long as any formal vocational training which gives the same expertise, and the expertise must be relevant to the work applicant will be taking on. Students Study Permit Application form for students Passport photo A letter of admission from the educational institution where applicant wish to study. The letter of admission must contain the name of the applicant, information about the educational institution, the studies and the level to which applicant have been admitted, plus the length of the studies Documentation of housing Documentation of subsistence (documentation of support from the State Educational Loan Fund and/or documentation that the amount of the subsistence requirement has been deposited in a Norwegian bank account in the applicant s name or in the educational institution s account for this purpose) Copy of passport Two copies of the National Identity Two copies (one in original and one copy) of a letter of admission from a relevant Norwegian educational institution. Two copies (one in original and one copy) of a relevant document on a financial support during the period of study. Three copies (one in original and two copies) of an applicant s diploma (with subjects and grades) translated into English and verified. Application fee Details: Diplomats do not require a work or residence permit. PERSONAL & HOUSEHOLD GOODS The following documents are required to import personal & household goods into : Effective: Jan. 1,
7 Required Documents Passport Inventory List Form RG 124 or RG 124A Details Required Inventory list in duplicate in Norwegian, English, French or German. Norwegian customs declaration form RG 124 or RG 124A completed and signed by the shipper. Duties The shipper has resided abroad for at least 12 months. Items have been in shipper s possession for at least one year prior to arrival date. EORI# is not required on Bill of Lading. Effective Restricted and Prohibited Imports All countries, including prohibits and restricts the importation of certain dangerous or sensitive items. Restricted Items: Alcohol and tobacco New items Live plants (Phytosanitary Certificate from country of origin required) Animal products (Requires permit from Department of Agriculture) Prohibited Items: Drugs and narcotics Poisons Pornography Fresh meat Explosives including fireworks Automatic weapons Ammunition Spirits containing over 60% volume alcohol Some medications/vitamins Endangered animal or plant species Potatoes Medicines and vitamins Cordless ph1s Effective: Jan. 1,
8 Restricted and Prohibited Exports Not available. Motor Vehicles Imports The following documents are required to import motor vehicle(s) into : Required Documents Property Title Norwegian identification number Inventory List For Assessing Tax For Registration Details Original title or other document proving length of ownership. Norwegian identification number or proof of having applied for this number. On the inventory, state the vehicle s mileage, make, year, model, registration, plate and chassis number and year the car was registered in the owner s name. It should also state the actual purchase price. Shipping invoices and documentation are also required. The following documents are required by the Norwegian Customs and Excise for assessing tax: Original foreign registration document For vehicle newer than 30 years old documentation of vehicle s net weight, engine power (in horsepower or kw) and cylinder volume (in cm3). This can be in the form of a foreign registration document or certificate of compliance (COC). Personal identification The following documents are required for registration: Certification form NA-0221 Melding til avgiftsberegning og registrering or Notification concerning tax calculation and registration Personal identification of person delivering vehicle for registration Original registration document Certificate of Compliance (COC) for type approval or documentation from factory or independent laboratory certifying the vehicle is in compliance of certain technical requirements. Declaration from Norwegian insurance company verifying that third-party insurance has been obtained. Stamped receipt for road tax, where applicable. Formalities for the permanent clearance of the vehicle will have to be carried out at the local Customs office. Primary document is: Effective: Jan. 1,
9 Required Documents Form NA-0221 Details A customs stamped form NA-0221 must also be presented. Upon customs clearance, the chassis number is provided to the Central Motor Vehicles Register (Autosys), which is required for registration. Motor Vehicles can be imported duty-free under the following conditions: Shipper moving to on a two year visa and auto is re-exported at the end of the two years. Shipper has owned the vehicle and it has been registered in owner's name for at least one year with a minimum of 5000km/3200 miles prior to importation. Returning Norwegians must have resided abroad for at least five continuous years. (Exception: foreign visitor entering on a two year visa may bring an auto duty/tax free with the understanding that the auto must be exported from at the end of this period.) Shipper has had possession of a driver's license for a minimum of one year. Vehicle will not be sold within two years after date of importation. Details: Before importation, contact a district office of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration regarding technical requirements. Vehicles must comply with safety standards and emission control regulations. Motor vehicles are subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) on customs value, registration tax and a recycling deposit. No import duty is applicable. Customs value is ordinarily the price paid or the amount due and the cost of shipping plus insurance to the Norwegian border. If the vehicle is to be registered immediately, the registration tax and VAT can be paid in advance to the Norwegian Customs and Excise. The motor vehicle can be registered once tax is paid and the Norwegian Customs and Excise certifies the registration card. The card then needs to be presented at a district office of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. Vehicle must be insured in before it is driven. The only people allowed to drive the vehicle are the owner and family members residing at the same address. Vehicle must originate from same country as shipper. Only one vehicle per person is allowed. Vehicle must arrive in within three months of the shipper s arrival. All motor vehicles in are subject to a yearly fee set by the government. Foreign registration plates are relinquished to customs authorities. Therefore, advance purchase of temporary registration plates must occur at a district office of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. Motor Vehicles Exports Not available. Effective: Jan. 1,

12 WOOD PACKAGING MATERIAL International wood packing requirements are in accordance with ISPM 15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures: Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade*) as of 5 July 2006: *ISPM 15 is produced by the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). ISPM 15 requires certain phytosanitary procedures, in particular heat treatment or methyl bromide fumigation, relating to wood packaging material (including dunnage) made of raw wood in use in international trade; the phytosanitary procedures are meant to minimize the risk of introducing and spreading certain pests that live and breed in raw wood. REQUIREMENTS OF ISPM 15 Wood packaging material in the form of: Packing cases, boxes, crates, drums, and similar packings Pallets, box pallets, skids, and other load boards Pallet collars actually in use in the transport of objects of all kinds, except: Raw wood of 6mm thickness or less Processed wood produced by glue, heat and pressure, or any combination thereof The wood packaging material shall: Be subject to one of the approved measures as specified in Annex I To FAO ISPM 15 (currently, heat treatment or methyl bromide fumigation) Display a mark with: o The two-letter ISO Country Code (in place of XX in the image below) o A code identifying the producer (in place of 000 in the image below) o The code identifying the approved measure applied to the wood packing material in the mark as specified in Annex II to FAO ISPM 15 (in place of YY in the image below; examples are HT For Heat Treatment and MB for Methyl Bromide Fumigation ) o Where debarking is required, the letters DB shall be added to the abbreviation of the approved measure included in the said mark o The logo as specified in Annex II to FAO ISPM 15 (this logo is the ippc trademarked graphic symbol shown in the image below on the left side) Effective: Jan. 1,
