The program is a service that helps federal, state and local benefit-issuing agencies, institutions, and licensing agencies determine the immigration status of benefit applicants so only those entitled to benefits receive them. Is your jurisdiction using the program, and should you be? Learn the benefits, what to do when the system is down and how to handle the many immigration codes.

RIDE Program Update June 23, 2015 AAMVA Region II Conference
What Is RIDE? An enhancement to the E-Verify program that verifies the validity of driver s license and ID card information by matching the data entered by employers against jurisdiction records. A partnership between USCIS, AAMVA, and state motor vehicle offices. Nearly 80 percent of employees present a driver s license or ID card as proof of identity. Driver s license or ID Card 78% 22% Other document
Why RIDE Is Important Employment eligibility verification requires proof of identity and employment authorization. E-Verify checks SSA and DHS records to verify employment authorization. + RIDE addresses the issue of individuals who present fake identity documents using valid data that will match SSA records.
RIDE Today Legend Participating in RIDE Planning to Launch North Dakota RIDE launched on June 15, 2015.
Moving Beyond the Pilot Program Legal: Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) are no longer required the statement of work between USCIS and the participating state serves as the governing document. Technology: New AAMVAnet /RIDE Web services interface launched in December will provide greater flexibility and more efficient data flow. Support: AAMVA and USCIS have added additional staff to support the program and speed onboarding.
Time (in months) Improved Onboarding Developed better defined requirements and robust testing plan to identify issues early. Expanded AAMVA contract to provide additional support during onboarding. Reduced contract deliverables to ease burden on participating states Months to Onboard Mississippi Florida Idaho Iowa Nebraska North Dakota Time (in months)
