3 Objectives of the qualification passport allow workers to document their qualifications and skills acquired through education, vocational training and on the job allow employers to assess the skills and experiences of job candidates from their own and other EU countries facilitate a better match of offer and demand in employment in the hotel and restaurant sector high level of cross-border vocational mobility 3

5 Main features of the qualification passport internet-based electronic tool, easily printable on paper passport holder = owner of data non-mandatory multilingual passport: insertion in one language; data available in several languages compatibility with existing tools (e.g. Europass, EURES, other national or sectoral passports, Eures, EQF) list of competencies and skills related to services areas in the hospitality sector, e.g. accommodation; food & beverages; maintenance open: jointly elaborated and administered by social partners or commercial solution? 5

11 Implementation 2009 project under Budget Heading Industrial relations and social dialogue : Towards the implementation of the European Qualification and Skills Passport (QSP) in the Hospitality Sector identification of the countries interested in participating in the experimentation phase: ESP, HU, IRL, IT, MT external expert elaboration of skills lists for each area of services in the hospitality sector drafting of a final model of the QSP suggestions for the technical and legal implementation of the QSP at national level methodologies to link the QSP to EQF and EURES project working group with social partners from those countries interested in participating in the experimentation phase translation of the QSP model and adaptation to the respective national framework organization of a final conference to diffuse the results and to prepare the next steps of the implementation of the QSP 11
