1 Tourist Visa Requirements US Adult Passport Tourist Visa Qualifications Tourist Visa (L Visa) is issued for those who come into for a short stay for tourism, a family visit or other personal affairs. A) US Passport You will need to provide your PHYSICAL valid passport. Your passport must meet the following consulate guidelines to be eligible for a visa. 1) The Passport MUST be signed. 2) Your Passport MUST have (2) blank visa pages that are adjacent to each other. 3) The Passport MUST have at least six months of remaining validity. 4) Please be advised that your passport should be undamaged. Passports should be free of fraying, tears, damage to the credential page and pages that have been separated from the binding. B) Copy of your Passport Bio Page Provide a clear copy of the applicant bio page at the front of the passport. 1

2 Tourist Visa Requirements US Adult Passport B) Application 1) Please complete your application Application-Form-2013.pdf Your application MUST be completed on a computer and then printed. Hand written application will not be accepted by the consulate. 2) Provide the applicant s information for visa processing. All fields must be acknowledged, do not leave any sections blanks. Any fields that do not apply to the applicant you MUST insert N/A to that field. 3) You MUST list your name EXACTLY how it appears on your passport. If your passport list your middle name or suffix you will need to include it on your application. C) Passport Sized Photograph You will need to provide (2) two passport-sized photographs. Photos requirements: 1) Identical taken within the last six months showing your current appearance 2) Color Photo 3) Full face, front view with a plain white or off-white background. 4) 2x2 Passport sized between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head. 5) Taken in normal street attire. Uniforms should not be worn in photographs except religious attire that is worn daily. 6) Do NOT wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline. 7) If you normally wear prescription glasses, a hearing device, wig or similar articles, they should be worn for your picture. 8) Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required. 9) Do NOT wear a white shirt. 2

3 Tourist Visa Requirements - US Adult Passport D) Proof of Residency 1) A copy of the applicant s valid Driver s License. E) Proof of Travel Copy of your Flight Itinerary 1) Your itinerary must show the applicant s name and the dates to be travelled in. F) Proof of Accommodations You must be able to provide ONE of the following: 1) Copy of your Hotel Reservation. Your hotel reservations must be in the applicants name and correspond with the travel dates shown on the flight itinerary. 2) If you are staying with a family member(s) or friend(s) you will need to provide the following: A letter of invitation from your host in inviting you to stay with them. The letter must state the address and the duration of your stay. The inviter must provide a clear photocopy of the host s credential page from inside their passport and/or a valid identification card. All non-chinese passport holders must provide a clear copy of their valid Chinese visa. I) Photo Copy of Previous Visa(s) If applicable provide a photo copy of any previous visa(s) issued by the Chinese Consulate. 3
