Enter employee number 2. Enter 9094 in the Direct Selection Infotype field 3. Click to Create. 4. Select Type of Permit from the list. LMIA Exempt A work permit has been granted under an immigration pathway that is exempt from a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Postdoctoral Fellows, NAFTA Professionals, & International Experience Canada are common LMIA exempt immigration pathways. Requires University intervention to apply for an Offer of Employee ID number from Citizenship & Immigration Canada LMIA A positive Labour Market Impact Assessment was required and has HRIS Procedure Document For Assistance with this Process

5 been granted in order for the employee to receive their work permit. The LMIA confirms the need to hire a foreign worker. Requires University intervention to process and submit the LMIA application. Open Work Permit A work permit that has been applied for and granted without University intervention. The work permit will indicate that the holder can work for any employer in any occupation. Typically includes postgraduation work permits and spousal work permits. Post Graduate Work Permit Applicant The employee must demonstrate that an application for a Post- Graduate work permit is currently in process by means of an official Citizenship and Immigration Canada receipt of confirmation Study Permit The employee is the holder of a valid study permit that allows the holder to work a specified number of hours depending on their home institution. Z94A Used to convert active records to IT9094. Do not use. Z94S Used to convert active records to IT9094. Do not use. (9094) is proposed 1. Enter the Start Date of Appointment in 2. Maintain HR Master Data to Create Implied Status for Employment Verification Click on the following path: Human Resources Personnel Management Administration HR Master Data Maintain 1. Enter employee number 2. Enter 9094 in the Direct Selection Infotype field 3. Click to Overview. 4. Select the record where implied status will be applied. Note: Implied status is applicable only for LMEX, LMIA, OPWP and STPM 5. Click to Edit. Change Employment Verification (9094) is proposed 14. Put a tick mark in 15. Enter Date of Application in 16. Click to validate. 17. Click to Save. A new record will be created for the selected permit with implied status and same employment verification information as with previous permit. The Start Date of the new record is a day after the Previous Permit Expiry Date. The End Date of the new record is 6 months after the record s Start Date.
