4 TOURIST VISA REQUIREMENTS 01 Nov 2015 In order to fill in the on-line visa form, please select the Indian Mission as follows: Canada-Ottawa if you live in Ottawa/NCR (613 & 819), Montreal, NU. Canada-Toronto if you live in ON, MB, QC, NS, NB, PEI, NFLD. Canada-Vancouver if you live in BC, AB, SK, YT, NWT. TOURIST VISA - original real signed passport, valid for at least 7 months after return from India, - previous passport for Canadian passport holders not born in Canada, - one (1) fully completed and signed on-line visa application form, sign twice - under the photograph and at the bottom. - two (2) standard 51mm x 51mm colour photographs, showing full face on white background. Face must be at least 30mm in length. Shoulders must reach and bleed over the edge of the image. There cannot be white space on either side of the body. Photo must be uploaded to the Indian government visa application website. - copy of one utility bill or government-issued ID proving place of residence. The utility bill is usually mandatory, especial for Ottawa applicants. - When the applicant is a minor (less than 18 years of age), both the parents should sign the minor consent form and provide notarized photocopies of their valid passports. Both parents should sign the minor s visa application form on page 2 only. Both parents must provide a notarized affidavit allowing for travel. - one Canadian reference must be typed on the application form as a contact for authorities in case of any emergency. India references are not required for tourists. 10 ON-LINE VISA APPLICATION for INDIAN VISAS 01 Jan 2015 All Indian visas must be applied for ON-LINE using the Indian visa application computer system. Persons applying for a visa to travel to India are required to go to the link above to complete and register their applications on-line. After registering on-line, the applicant must print out the application from the website and submit it along with all necessary required documents. The old handwritten form is no longer accepted for visa applications. Do Please record the interim unique reference number generated at the start of the online form. Please record the final reference number that is generated upon completion of your application. Provide an address in your application so that your unique reference numbers can be ed. Please submit a confirmed and detailed itinerary if applying for a double/triple entry visa. However, this does not guarantee the issuance of a visa and the decision would still remain subject to the discretion of the High Commission of India. Applications MUST be signed by the applicant him/herself on BOTH the top and bottom of the Form. Sign the bottom of the form and under the photograph. Before submitting your application, please ensure your passport has no valid visa for India. All fields on the Online Application Form must be completed in as much detail as possible. Upload photo to the Indian government visa application website. Don't Offline/handwritten application forms will not be accepted. Photographs with a coloured background will not be accepted. Photographs only with a white/off white background will be accepted. Please do not staple photograph to the application Form. Please paste it to the front of the Form. Please ensure all applications requiring additional documents are completed prior to submission. Visa application process Log on to the website given above Please note the interim Unique Reference Number located at the start, and on each page, of the Online Form once you begin. Guidance notes are also provided. Complete all the required fields as specified. Upon completing and saving the Online Application Form, applicants will receive an with details of the final Reference Number, providing an address has been given while filing the Form. Applicants will also have the option to Download/Print the application form at this stage. PRINT it. Upon clicking Save, applicants will be redirected to the module that allows selection of the center for submission, mode of collection. Upon completion, applicants will receive another with details of the application made. All applicants will be required to sign a Declaration Form, along with the application. 11 INDIAN VISA PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS (MANDATORY REQUIREMENT) Visa Application Photograph Size (height x width) 51mm by 51 mm The photo requirements are very strict.. Please follow the following instructions Additional physical copy of photograph is required apart from uploading in online application. - The photograph should be in colour and of the size of exactly 51 mm x 51 mm - Centre the head within frame (right to left) and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin. - The face should cover about percent of the photo area - It should have full face, front view, eyes open. - The applicant's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin. - Please ensure both ears, neck, and shoulders are clearly visible. - The head must be centred within the frame. - The expression on the face should look natural. - The shoulders must go past the edge of the image (see sample below) - Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open. - Background should be plain white or off-white coloured without borders with contrast coloured clothes (not white clothes). - Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted. - There should not be any distracting shadows on the face or on the background. - Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown. - The expression on the face should look natural. - The photo-print should be clear and with a continuous-tone quality.
