The mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Tulsa is to be Christ s merciful love to those who suffer. In 2013, more than 60,000 people in need benefited from Catholic Charities services. Assistance is provided without regard to race, color or creed; we estimate that approximately 85% of those served are not of the Catholic faith. Our staff and more than 3,500 volunteers carry out the mission. Catholic Charities is not a United Way agency and does not receive funds from the DDF. The majority of funding for operations is provided by individuals and charitable organizations. Thank you for being part of our shared mission Eastern Oklahoma Outreach efforts provided assistance for 14,604 people in Sallisaw 1,808 people in McAlester 3,069 people in Poteau plus 26,100 in financial support 17 % more people received emergency services in 2013 than in was provided for assistance programs through 16 eastern Oklahoma parishes. 4 128 refugees and 119 secondary migrants were resettled and/or assisted by Migration and Refugee Services. Refugees and secondary migrants were primarily Burmese, but also came from Iraq, Iran, Cuba, Mexico, Congo and Zambia. 10,023 hot lunches 2,168 other meals were served from the San Pascual hot lunch program. Fresh vegetables and herbs grown in the campus garden were used in meals and given to food pantry recipients. 232,000 was raised for 2013 Oklahoma Tornado Relief 415 people 1,741 consultations with 1,242 individuals 2,643 St. Toribio Romo Immigration Services assisted received free dental care at 45volunteer 86 dentists volunteer filing for US citizenship (final step) seeking deferred action for childhood arrivals unaccompanied children St. Elizabeth Lodge housed 17 families including 37 children with a goal of stronger family values and financial independence. dental appointments 24 hygienists volunteer dental assistants provided dental services valued at 1,045,943 These funds were sent directly to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City to support their relief efforts. 5 192 individuals attended 762 counseling sessions St. Joachim Counseling Services provides licensed personal, marriage and family counseling from a Catholic perspective. 347 women received pregnancy services and156 Blessed Mother Teresa Women s Health Services operates in conjunction with the Oklahoma State University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 45 % babies were born more women received pregnancy services in 2013 than in adoptions through St. Anne Adoption Services The total number of adoptions doubled from ,103 students 13,604 attended class sessions at St. Katharine Drexel Education Services 22 classes were offered in GED Prep, English language, basic education, computer skills, parenting, NFP, basic finance and more 37 % more class sessions were attended in 2013 than in the previous year. Madonna House welcomed 19 pregnant women and prepared them for independence with parenting and life skills. 11 babies were born. 6 retreatants found healing through Rachel s Vineyard Retreats for abortion healing.
