The project topic is the European Union and its aspects. By means of the project, we want to make young people aware to understand the social, juridical, economic differences between the Member States and the people of EU. The participants will be capable to recognize the importance of the Union and its cultural diversity, the causes of social economic problems, the power of the democratic process and especially the power of the right of European citizens' initiative cornerstone of participatory democracy. The working method will be non-formal learning in an intercultural dimension. Activities will include games, role-play, simulations and discussions. The specific objectives of the project are: - Knowledge of different European cultures;
2 - Break of national stereotypes; - Knowledge the role of European Institutions, especially the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission; - Knowledge of the European legal system; - Knowledge of European citizens' initiative; - To value the importance of democracy and participatory democratic system; - Increased the awareness of social issues and civil rights; - Knowledge of social, economic, cultural, problems in local and international contexts. The general objectives of the project are: - Increasing the sense of active citizenship; - Increasing the sense of European citizenship; - Increasing the sense of tolerance towards different cultures and social status; - Increase in their ability to work in multicultural groups; ACCOMMODATION You will be accommodated in mixed rooms by nations but not by sex! You will be 6 in the room, each room being spacious and with a private bathroom. There is no possibility to stay in double room. Here are some picture. In the accommodation place, there is no Wi-Fi but in the food place, you have it.
3 FOOD every morning we will have a light breakfast consisting of cornflakes, bread and jam, or biscuits with tea or coffee. Italians do not eat a lot for breakfast, so if you are used to eat hearty breakfast, we can show you where to shop or you can visit the bakery just around the corner, but we are sure you will adapt fast and enjoy this change! Lunch and dinner will be cooked by an Italian woman, Simple but tasty! WHAT TO PREPARE- IMPORTANT! Presentation of your organization Presentation (POWER POINT or PREZI) about the meaning of EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP. The presentation should be 20-minute minimum. Presentation of the unemployment situation in each country. They can use any kind of way: photo, video, presentation, power point etc. Every morning the warm up will be done by different nation, so please prepare a warm up session/icebreaker game (5-15 min) - Prepare one team building game Every country should realize the following activities: DENMARK - KNOW YOUR RIGHT: discovering the right of being a European citizen FRANCE : EUROPEAN QUIZ SPAIN : about Europe and refugees TURKEY between the differences: cultural differences and conflict LITUANIA European Value POLAND : PRIORITY OF EUROPEAN UNION WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU Read the info pack carefully. If you have question (invoices, insurance) do not hesitate to ask! Prepare for the intercultural night to present your country. You can make a presentation, fun quiz, show videos, teach folk dance or song, bring food, drink. It is up to you, be creative! Be active even before the activity: we will post videos, materials in the Facebook group. Please read and watch them carefully, and do all the preparatory activities connected to them. Bring your own towels for your rooms, please. LOTS OF POSITIVE ENERGY AND A DETERMINATION TO LEARN AND LIVE A DIFFERENT LIFESTYLE FOR A WEEK!
4 TRAVEL COST All the reimbursements will be done via bank transfer to the partner/participant bank account after receiving all the documents requested. It might take some months after the YE in order to arrange all the documents and receive the money for travel costs from ITALIAN NA. The amounts that get over the maximum budget for each participant will NOT be reimbursed. So please book your tickets as soon as possible. Denmark DANISH INTERCULTURAL ORGANISATION 275 euro Turkey ULUSLARARASI GENCLIK AKTIVITELERI MERKEZI 275 euro DERNEGI Spain Associació Cultural Tabalà 275 euro Lithuania ASOCIACIJA AKTYVISTAI 275 euro Poland SEMPER AVANTI 275 euro France ASSOCIATION MIGRATION SOLIDARITE & ECHANGE 275 euro POUR LE DEVELOPPEMENT - AMSED According to the restrictions of the Erasmus+ Programme, we can only refund the travel cost, if the following points are fulfilled: 1) Your travel route is from your place of residence to the venue in ITALY (Poggiardo) and back. 2) You have chosen reasonable and economic means of transportation (e.g. cheap airlines, 2nd class trains). 3) Your travel dates are according to the programme 2 November arrival and 8 November departure. 4) You can travel between your country and Italy. 2 days prior or after the training course but have to prepare reasonable written explanation as it is asked by NA in order to be reimbursed. Explanation can be for example cheaper travel costs. In addition, in this case, the programme does not provide lodging and accommodation for the extra days; it will be the responsibility of the participants. 5) You have all documents to prove your travel (invoices, tickets, boarding passes). Nearest airport is in BRINDISI! From there we will pick you up by bus if you request so. The cost of the bus is around 20 Euro per person; please consider it in your budget. The train from Brindisi to Lecce costs approximately Euros. Alternatively, you can arrive in BARI, if you can find better connection, we will send you a bus to pick you up and the cost is 35 Euro per person. The train from Bari to Lecce costs approximately Euros. Alternatively, you can arrive to ROMA and from Roma take a train to LECCE. If you choose this option, you can find info and time table at From Lecce to Poggiardo, please see The train from Lecce goes to Poggiardo a couple of times a day and the one-way ticket costs 2 Euros.
