Non-Vacancy Specific Recruitment Efforts During Reporting Period June 1, May 31, Participation in job fairs students participated in WCPO's Careers in Media--High School Workshop for area high school students to learn about careers in media. This annual event was held at the station on February 28, Activities for the students included watching a live newscast, studying ethics in media, and participating in an open discussion on career opportunities in communications. WCPO media professionals were on hand to answer questions about their jobs in journalism, sales and engineering. HR Manager Katie Rawe, Community Affairs Director Mona Morrow, and VP/GM Jeff Brogan participated in the African American Chamber of Commerce Job Fair on December 6, Internship programs that assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment. Human Resources Manager Katherine Rawe coordinates WCPO's college intern program that allows college broadcasting students the opportunity to get practical hands-on experience in broadcasting employment. During this reporting period, one student attending college participated in an internship in news, sports, investigative reporting, production, and digital media. The program ran from June 9 - August 22, WCPO's long-standing Careers in Media--Minority Internship Program, developed by Community Affairs Director Mona Morrow, continued to give high school students exposure to careers in the media industry during the reporting period. Applications and brochures were mailed to every high school in the market. Eight students were selected to participate at WCPO in this unpaid internship program from June 9 through August 8, WCPO has worked to expand this successful effort to broaden the community's understanding about opportunities in broadcast and print media by partnering with other local media outlets. During the period, WCPO continued its involvement in the DePaul Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program by providing on-the-job training to a student at the DePaul Cristo Rey High School, an institution devoted to building a pipeline to college for young people from diverse urban backgrounds who have limited educational options. The student worked with the Station's Community Affairs Director learning project manager responsibilities

6 III. Non-Vacancy Specific Recruitment Efforts During Reporting Period June 1, May 31, Scholarship programs that assist students interested in pursuring a career in broadcasting. WCPO's personnel have offered substantial assistance to its corporate parent's charitable arm, the Scripps Howard Foundation, in Scripps' major corporate effort to substantially enhance the level of minority participation in America's media companies. Through this Foundation, The E.W. Scripps Company has made a multi-million dollar commitment to growing the pool of minority students interested in and qualified to participate in communications media. During the reporting period, the Foundation continued its committment to the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, a Historically Black College & University--providing Hampton with educational program funding and co-hosting Scripps Days on campus to enable students and faculty to develop and strengthen their relationships with practicing journalists and communications industry leaders. WCPO has consistently been involved in these efforts, particularly through the Scripps Hampton Internship Program (SHIP). SHIP permits Hampton students to enjoy paid summer internships at various Scripps media properties, and WCPO, in accord with its usual practice, hosted a Hampton student participant from June 9, - August 15, Job training programs that enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions. WCPO and its employees participate in The E.W. Scripps Company's Career Management Program that includes training to help employees develop their career skills. "MMJ University" is an internal program that is designed to provide special training for the station s journalists in reporting, writing and photography. Eight station employees attended MMJ University during the reporting period. In addition, all WCPO employees enjoy the opportunity to pursue career advancement through online training in station-related skills such as management and leadership, career growth planning, job interviewing, and a variety of specific skill-sets. This elearning system is also used for EEO training and other mandatory compliance training.

Reporter Tom McKee particpated in a panel on Student Internships during the Region 4 SPJ Conference at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Cherokee Elementary School and conducted a Weather presentation on November 12, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Fort Wright Elementary School and conducted a Weather presentation on December 16, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Hammersville Elementary School and conducted a Severe Weather presentation on January 15, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Gray Middle School and conducted a Severe Weather presentation on January 21, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Collins Elementary School and conducted a Severe Weather presentation on March 19, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Elda Elementary School and conducted a Severe Weather presentation on April 16, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Mason Early Childhood Center and conducted a Severe Weather presentation on April 21, Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark visited Aurora Elementary School and conducted a Severe Weather presentation on April 22, Anchor Kathrine Nero participated in the Fort Wright Elementary School Career Fair in March Editor Mike Canan and Account Executive Pam Winslow participated in a Career Fair at Hays- Porter School on May 15, Meteorologist Jason Adams participated in a Career Day at Monroe Elementary school on May 14, 2015.
