Recently the announcement was made to continue the original March Madness Experience in Peoria through the season.

3 Member Feature Best Kept Secret On The River Peoria historian Jerry Klein said: The club was, and still is, unique. You didn t have to be rich or famous to join. What was mainly required was an interest in boats, and the river. It mattered not whether you owned a 40-foot Chris Craft or a 12-foot dinghy, or maybe no boat at all. Your membership made you part of a boating family, a family that was and still is tight-knit but hardly exclusive. The sign out front may say Members Only, but those who might not qualify are seldom turned away. Guests are always welcome. Mention yacht club and you might think of something formal, distinguished graying men in blazers and captain s hats and women in cocktail gowns. Not here. At least not often, anyway. There may be bankers and CEO s and VIP s, but there are also lots of ordinary folks, whatever that may mean, and the uniform of the day, except for party time, is more likely to be jeans and sweaty T-shirts and tattered boat shoes. And while there has always been a gulf between stinkpots and sailboats, it has been pretty much obliterated at the IVY Club by a sense of camaraderie. Hey, we all love boats! We all love the river! Countless members have crossed the bar in the century since the club was founded. We are IVY Club members. That was always something special. It still is. The IVY Club always welcomes potential new members, and boat ownership is optional. The Club offers many social activities; a pool, dining room and bar. 4 Business Briefs news Advance Correctional Healthcare Senior Counsel, Jessica Young, Esq., is traveling to San Francisco, CA to host Advanced Correctional Healthcare s 2nd Annual Legal Summit at the Defense Research Institute. ALIPRO will be starting its Project Delivery Cycle (PDC) class as a part of its professional development series in April at the Illinois Central College North Campus Hickory Hall. The Center for Youth and Family Solutions received a $3,000 donation from CEFCU to make renovations to the visitation room for foster children in its Springfield office. Eureka College will offer a new bachelor s degree in digital and media design beginning in August. Goodwill of Central Illinois and Bergner s held their semi-annual donation drive in March. Goodwill is also partnering with Joliet Junior College to offer free job skills workshops. Hult Center for Healthy Living encouraged smokers to take the first step to living a healthy life and quit on March 18th for National Kick Butts Day. Midstate College would like to congratulate all the students that earned a spot on the 2014 Winter Term Dean s List, 2014 Winter Term President s List, and 2014 Winter Term Perfect Attendance List. Midstate College would also like to congratulate all of the 2014 Winter Term graduates. Peoria Park District Peoria Zoo held their annual Easter Egg Scramble and would like to announce that summer 2015 registration for Zoo Camp is now open. Community Leadership School students visited the Capitol Building in Springfield on March 4, marking the halfway point for the annual program.
