We want to let you know of our relief efforts for this natural disaster. The company will provide some assistance to associates impacted. We are also donating $5,000 to the American Red Cross. Some associates have inquired on how they can help on their own. The goal of the program is to learn about the guest experience at each of our locations to drive improvement and excellence. Travelers will receive an invitation on their receipt to provide feedback on their visit, and have the chance to win a $500 gift card. New Store Openings Paradies Lagardère celebrated several grand openings recently: Paradies Lagardère and the Tampa International Airport (TPA) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 4, for the opening of a Tampa Bay Timesbranded store in Airside E. Authentic gelato purveyor Pino Gelato opened at the Long Beach Airport (LGB). 5 priority and focus is planning and executing activities supporting Nexus integration and store conversions. Key to doing so successfully is working together seamlessly, merging skill sets and bringing the best of what Atlanta and Toronto have to offer, as one IT team, to meet the company's goals and objectives. Gerry Kestenberg and David Eshelman have led the charge for IT with the integration and store conversions to date, meeting various challenges, and adapting to changes and developments as they come. Our new Chief Information Officer (CIO) Shirl Stroeing joined the company in June, and has led the team with IT's most important project to date. A conversion includes implementing standard Point of Sale (POS) systems across the organization, including back office systems, scanners, printers, and computer networks, as well as loading store, product and employees into the systems. As of August 22, the following platforms have been converted: Detroit, Pittsburgh, Austin, San Antonio, the Buda Warehouse, Indianapolis, Denver, Boston, Los Angeles, Mesa, and Phoenix Sky Harbor. Dallas, Houston, the Phoenix non-airport locations, Vail, and Vancouver are on tap for completion. Thank you to IT for its hard work and dedication to the company during the Nexus integration and store conversions. The team's commitment to completing this project exemplifies the best of our highly-engaged workforce at Paradies Lagardère. At Our Best Our organization has an iconic reputation for customer service. Paradies Lagardère is also dedicated to motivating our associates. It's particularly special when we receive correspondence from travelers regarding stellar service they've received in our stores. Some recent s we've received not only recognize our philanthropic programs, but the outstanding work of our associates. We received this kind letter from a U.S. member of the Texas Air National Guard to thank us for the Treat Our Troops program. 6 I was a recent beneficiary to the generosity shown by Paradies Lagardère this past holiday season. I merely wanted to thank you for the support shown by Paradies to myself and all my brothers and sisters in arms throughout the Armed Forces. I have worn a U.S. Navy uniform and continue to serve in the U.S. Air Force. I spend a great deal of time traveling through airports with even more time away from my family. This is a choice I make freely and without reservations, as I guess I am fanatically devoted to my country and its citizens. So it was nice to receive as simple a gesture as a free drink and sandwich. It does indeed help to feel appreciated for my service. I called your office in Atlanta to inquire whom I could contact, in Detroit, to see if I had left my wallet in the shop. A young lady, I believe her name was Debbie, immediately put me in touch with Amanda, the supervisor in Detroit. Amanda could not have been more helpful. She actually did what she said she was going to do, when she said she was going to do it; remarkable in today's retail world. Both ladies showed compassion and a willingness to help someone they had never met. Whatever you're doing from a hiring and training perspective, please keep doing it!
