12 Publix Super Markets has a great program that will enable our school to make money every time we shop at Publix. It s simple: Just present the Publix Partners card (the one that you received in the first day packet) when you shop and Publix will handle everything else. For every eligible $37,500* our supporters spend at Publix, $250 will be given to our school at the quarter s end. If we haven t reached the $37,500 mark by the end of a quarter, our balance will carry over to the next quarter. There are on hundreds of products we use every day. Simply clip the coupon from the package and start collecting. Send the Box Tops in with your student or drop off in the front office next time you are at Beck. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and when we all work together, the money adds up fast! Beck will have a several contests throughout the year. Stay tuned. If you have questions Kerra McAdams at kerramcadams@gmail.com Collection bin is located in the front office. Follow us on Beck enews, Issue 3, September 11, 2017 Page 12

16 If your 7 th or 8 th grade student is participating in a JL Mann Sport, we encourage you to join the Booster Club. JL Mann Booster Club Teamwork, perseverance, commitment, time management, physical endurance, training, and personal mental and physical health all come into play when a student decides to become an athlete. It s easy to focus on the wins and the losses when discussing high school athletics but there is so much more at stake than trophies. JL Mann has a rich history of athletic success but just as important is what is happening off the field, as the school creates the next generation of college bound graduates, leaders, engineers, technicians, military recruits, and business executives. This is why it s important to be a part of JL Mann s Booster Club! While the Booster Club is here to support athletics, its real mission is support the school s mission of developing our students. Our mission is to support the school s athletics through our fund-raising efforts and memberships because athletics do not come cheap. At a minimum the Booster Club is tasked with raising over $100,000 to help make up for the short fall in our athletic budgets. The results of these efforts can be seen every day in the uniforms our athletes wear, the improvements made to athletic facilities, the fuel that powers the buses, and sports equipment to name just a few items. We do this by three methods: memberships, scoreboard and stadium sponsorships, and our annual Oyster Roast. Please help us help your student athlete. Join the Booster Club and get involved! We meet monthly at 6:30 on the second Monday of the month in the media center (library). Our meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend and we encourage you to come out and be a part of our team. Our volunteers put in 1000 s of hours to make all of this happen and we can t do it without you! Please or call me with any questions.
